I'm 73 now, but in the seventies, i went to the 1st NATION TRUCK IN. It was in Bowling Green Kentucky. What a blast. Left Atlanta GA, with about 5 truck caravan, by the time we got close , there were about 30 trucks. If i remember correctly, there was over 5000 trucks there by the end of Saturday. What a blast it was, we were free, beautiful ladies everywhere. I love those memories.

A little story. Years ago when I lived in Queens N.Y. a Dodge van was parked on our street a few houses up for a few weeks that looked to be abandoned and no one knew who’s it was. It was all decked out in ‘70’s typical custom paint and wheels with the bubble windows in the rear, chopped top, and sky lights. A mural design like floating bubbles wrapped around it and side pipes. Cool looking for sure. Eventually the neighbor called New York’s finest to have it towed and when they were checking the vin number it came back as belonging to my grandpa. The same van that was stolen about 3-4 years earlier from him. They stole it and completely customized it. Maybe the thieves got a guilty conscience and decided to give it back. It was a cool thing. He still had the keys and sure enough it fired up and viola, he had his van back. It was funny because he really wasn’t into the looks with all the shag carpet covering the interior. He gave it to me for my birthday and I drove it for a few years until I crashed it.

Every time I see Vans like these, makes me wish that I still had one. I had a 1999 Dodge, Hi-top Conversion Van! I'm doing minor restoration to my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, but I would part with it, finished or not, for a Van, even if I never put this type of work into it. Vans with graphics are SO Beautiful and that Black, 1999 Ram Van was Sharp!!!
