If you lightly water sand the acrylic rods (all the way around) with something like 2000-3000 grit sandpaper (to help remove some of it's clear "glass look" shine), the light from the LED would light up the rod more evenly. The opaque surface from water sanding will act like a light guide/diffuser (no need to cut lines into the rod). With an outside "rough" surface, the light traveling through the rod has something to bounce off of, which helps illuminate the whole rod more evenly with less noticeable hot spots at the bends.

Awesome job, can you make the exact same headlight customization for a GS 250 2012 model, and if so what price would you charge inclusive of shipping?
@Prototyp3m1nd5 ай бұрын
Not sure if you'll see this, but am I crazy or do none of the VLAND or similar triple beam headlights allow for the bulbs to actually be changed? Every version I've seen has only a tiny rear port in the housing. The versions for the FRS and some others still have the standard access ports to change bulbs but that doesn't seem to be the case with any for the IS. I assume the OEM LEDs on newer Lexuses last long enough and the expectation is for a full replacement eventually but I don't see these holding up for nearly as long as something from the factory.

Looks great! I use stainless steel wire and it holds up to a lot of abuse. I generally use sequential leds and halos. This is a fun approach and there multiple methods of passing light through those plastic rods or producing a similar effect.

how about using hollow acrylic tube and insert led strip directly inside the tube.. and then either spray white the tube or rub with sandpaper for diffusion

My Vlands started going out already. The main LEDs that illuminate the road are turning purple and light quality has declined. I was wondering if you know of any place I can buy quality LEDs from and that can possibly be as strong as the HCMotion headlights.
@TunerwithKids10 ай бұрын
Probably not. When I took it apart, the insides were basic LED and not something you can find aftermarket replacements for.

I see. I watched your video and I noticed the "exposure" increase/decrease, is that something that can be manipulated to make the headlights brighter?@@TunerwithKids

I'm considering purchasing the stock VLand headlights for my 007 Lexus IS350. After about 2.5 years my Depo lights have lost the DRL swoosh on the passenger side and they look pretty worn out. Is there a newer version of the VLAND l should consider?

@@TunerwithKids you can but not the back. You can do it on the front. Use a diy (or buy) a hot wire (for styrofoam, 0.2/0.5mm), shape the middle of the wire as round as the led rod and lightly touch it for 2 sec until you make a mark. Then repeat after every 1mm
