jmGaming Lol. Gaming PC for the win. Except it's more expensive. Just compare a $500 - $700 built PC to a $1200 Gaming PC. I just hate it when companies like Beats add a few extra $100 just because they're a huge company.

Amazing build, I would have never thought to do this! I'd say the best/most interesting part is the control type panel on the desk surface with the USB and audio ports! Now that's cool.

the current price is for us building them, we are currently building ten ourselves at the moment to get more interest but that was the lowest price we could do them for at the moment. you can access the components via lifting the top of the desk which is on hinges (see 2:24) no different form working under the hood of a car. the top is sealed via rubber trim which makes it completely water tight. you will have no issues fitting hardware into the desk as their is plenty of room :)

Thanks very much :) The material mainly looked rough because plywood doesn't cut so well and splinters. what the video doesn't show is all the sanding we had to do at the end to remove all imperfections which accumulated to roughly 4 hours by hand

When I first look at this custom made computer I think of the old Mini Computer which performed only one task versus the Mainframe which could do multiple jobs. I love the way it is built and it will remain cooler than the Fan Only system and can be repaired or cleaned easier also.

Awesome concept, would love to be able to buy/build one of these at some point! Only suggestion might be to have the fan monitor countersunk as well so that if you have a multi-monitor set up there's no height/clearance conflict. Great job!
@macwillard
@macwillard 11 жыл бұрын
Hi, Thanks for the feedback. There is a cut out for the motherboard I/O (see 1:27). If anything is needed to be plugged in then there is two USB, One e-SATA & also audio I/O located on the fan controller unit next to the monitor. Additionally if any more monitors/Graphic cards were required then you just simply plop them in on the motherboard and feed the cable through the back :)

What you should try do is make a full gaming setup in a desk like with all the consoles and things like that. I am definitely going to try do it some day. And i would also make it fully modular and upgradeable, and places to add extra stuff all built into a cool desk, that would be amazing.

answer to you first question is no, the top is sealed and no fluids can get past the rubber seal. secondly, I'm not too sure of the cost but it's affordable. Thirdly, I am able to open it up the top is on hinges (check 2:27). Thanks very much :)
@macwillard
@macwillard 11 жыл бұрын
yes, the coolant is dyed. there is no clumping. it's some kind of special fluid that doesn't clump I bought from EK Waterblocks. you do get a slight redness to the tubes when you drain the fluid but I'm not going to change colour so it doesn't really matter too much. Also changing the tubing is no different from changing the tubing in any other watercooled system, in fact it's probably easier as you have no space restrictions once the top is lifted up :)

thanks very much :) It took about 3 months of build working only on saturdays. also a lot of tweaking and updating the drawings in the process. the current prototype has an e-sata port, 2 USB & Audio I/O on the fan controller so i can attach an external drive USB devices etc. i didn't see any need of having an internal drive as i cant remember the last time i used DVD's or Blu-ray. good luck with your build i will be interested in seeing the final product :)

Thanks for watching??? Thanks for sharing this amazing stuff! So simple yet amazingly brilliant idea! When I start to watch it, I asked myself. Why didn't I ever thought of build a PC into the desk? Beautifully done! Didn't you have any vibration due the fans or the PSU?
@macwillard
@macwillard 11 жыл бұрын
Thanks Parker, the Price is to be confirmed but we are aiming for no more than £460. this will include the motherboard tray along with the option for a recessed or raised controller bay, LED lighting with a choice of colour or RGB including a controller). This is only a prototype so the quality of the build will be a lot better too. should add that it will also come in a choice of paint colours. Additionally we are producing a website for you to choose your components and fit them for you too.

I wouldn't call it simple honestly but easier than I thought. I am adding like a door on the other side on where the window is to put like keyboards and things in. Ive made a few thing different. Like putting a power strip with holes in the back so wires for lamps can just go right into the desk and you cant see it. Thanks for the inspiration.
@macwillard
@macwillard 11 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much :) there is no vibration whatsoever all components have a layer of a dampening material between them and the desk.
@JackModified

Dude you know what would have been amazingly sick though? Imagine if you made the desk and then made a metal case, seperate from the desk, except it fit into the desk as if it was slotted. And then you could just take the desk apart and have the case seperate, just in case you ever wanted a change of pace. Still very sick

Hi Gary Great thing you did! I'm looking forward to do something similar based on yours. I got some Questions: Did you use glue? I don't see any screws. What do you control with this control panel on top of it? Did you use paint or spray to color your deskt? And what is the right side of the table used for? I was thinking about putting a drawer in there.. Cheers Patrick from Switzerland

interesting. the air flow is pulled in from the back vents and out through the radiator. the GPU is watercooled along with the mosfets on the motherboard so there really isn't any heat build up within the enclosure (running temps are in the description). the psu is currently in the back with no heat build up at all. I thought about having a lever switch but the risk of catching or knocking it was too great, so went with flush switches. thanks for your feed back :)
