Customer called in her Maytag washer won’t spin or drain

A ride along to a service call customer complained her Maytag washer would not spin or drain- playback to 2 months ago similar complaint but the slider and transmission were making a bearing noise and I overhauled unit new transmission - slider - rotor stator and hub all tested good except the shocks were already wearing down from excessive overloading of washer ran a diagnostics test all passed

Thank you SO much for your reply!!! We found the problem. We have carpet in the laundry room for some dumb reason. Been here 4 years. When the tub got too heavy it was touching the carpet under it and when it was spinning it was literally spinning a indention in the carpet place obviously causing friction and heat and glue. Luckily my husband figured it out and now he’s got it up off the carpet and we are going flooring shopping today. Thank you so much it was very kind of you to reply!!!

Hi there!!! I’m in MO I have this washer. I recently started having problems with it spinning all the water out so I would have to run the spin cycle again. Not it’s not doing anything. It turns on, lid locks and all the lights come on and once you try to start load it sounds normal in the beginning and you think it’s gonna start but it doesn’t. I’ve tried this but no codes pop up. Is there anything else I can try? I thank you SO much!!! Thank you for posting videos like this for people like me 😊.

Try running test 52 see if it passes also look for your tech sheet and run a spin and agitate in manual test mode

That's a lot of parts changed on that machine. Certainly not worth it unless it's a manufacturer warranty.

So the drn code automatically means to replace the drain pump or could it be something else causing it not to drain? I have already took the back piece off and disconnected the hose coming from the drain pump to see if there was a piece of clothing causing it to be clogged but found nothing.

Mine will wash and then stop, it won't drain and spin. So I have to put it on the rise and spin cycle and then it will finish the load

Do you power off. Mine won't allow me to change to another cycle. It is still draining water intermittently even after unplugging.

Those dampers are fine. Yes they may be on their way out with time but when they are truly bad that tub will be a trampoline. If I were you I would have asked the customer more questions, “no spin” is too vague for me. Unless the customer reported banging or an off balance code I don’t think as of right now there is warrant to replace the rods
