I have the same engine in an RCM trainer. Fabulous little engine. I've been running K&B's since the early '70's and I really like them. One of my .61's is still running the original bearings and ring and in regular use in an old Astrohog.

I've been collecting some glow engines for the last year, and have picked up a number of K&Bs, including, basically, this one. Mine is a plain aero version. I've been tearing them down, cleaning them, and replacing the rings and bearings, and fiddling with them on a test stand. Retrofitting a Supertigre carburetor is quite an improvement over the factory one. For what these can be had for used on E-Bay, they're an amazing value.

@@tempest411 The factory square aluminium carb is not great but usable. I prefer the Perry carb which is still available from Conely in Texas. They are a little touchy but once you get it set they run well. Fitting an OS carb also works well.

Hi Dave Nice looking K&B I didn't know you could just swap them from marine to Aero ,and easy at that ,nice 1 🤙🤙🤙

You put a piece of round bar (not hex key) into the flywheel holes to tighten/loosen the nut. The grove is for a V belt, which hooks to the grove on the outside of the starter cone of your airplane starter. Welcome.

I did not have a round bar to insert and I am not thanking you for anything.

Pretty cool to have a marine engine on the channel. I'm assuming thats more of an inboard engine? It wasn't too long ago that I discovered a little bit about marine glow engines... The ones I had seen pics of though were the outboard type.

Uh, honestly I do not know. The K&B outboards I believe are bolted to a transom.

I have a K&B 40 going on my Kadet MK2. Will there be a Part 2? Assembly and run?
@dmrcflyr213 күн бұрын
There is a part 2, just not released yet. A run is planned but if the customers boat is completed before the weather is good enough to run it, there will not be a run. I don’t anticipate being able to run any engines for at least another month and a half.
