A customer hit a wooden fence post with their lawn mower. Since doing so the whole machine vibrates. Can we fix it? Thank you to my Patrons / daggerwin

As soon as I read the video title, I was thinking bent crankshaft. Amazed it still ran at all, and didn’t shake itself to bits.

This reminded me of when I was little mowing my grandfathers yard in Florida. I went off the curb and bent the crankshaft. Thing is I really miss that time it’s such a distant memory now it feels like another lifetime. Hard to put myself there and believe it was our life. Miss him.

I worked with a guy who bent the crank on his mower, he kept going though just to get it done. After mowing he looked at his wrist watch and both hands were just sliding around on the face under the crystal! The vibration broke them off LOL. Thanks! another great video!

In 1973 I worked in a small engine shop and we had a simple crankshaft stratener that worked very well without disasembeling the moter and without harming the seal.

was it called a hammer? LOL
@ruben_balea2 ай бұрын
@@M.TTT. No, those are still made, like Stens 751-032 and Rotary 1709 I don't recommend trying to fix a crankshaft or any other shaft that has a blade on it, but there are many machines were a crankshaft can be fixed safely. Pressure washer pumps that are mounted directly to the engine shaft can do funny things when they seize. On karts and other chain driven machines you can bend the crankshaft if something gets caught between the chain and pinion/sprocket or if you tighten a hot chain without leaving enough slack, because as the steel cools it will shorten creating a *massive* pull force. That happens with chainsaw chains too.

I use my dads mower on our plot of land about 1/3rd of an acre i think. only problem with it is its lost its drive, not sure whats happened with it. there is resistance when lever is pulled but no drive... think its an Allister from B&Q, not one ive ever used before. i am reluctant to take it to bits but a part of me feels its something simple like a stretched drive belt...

Your customer was lucky to damage the engine, it seems to be the cheapest part of an Outils-Wolf mower, I'm fixing a 20 year old GTBF4M for a friend and (at least in Spain) all parts are 2-3 times more expensive than genuine parts for a similar Husqvarna mower. The parts that are standard like bearings and bolts cost more or less the same as in my nearest tractor parts store but any custom parts like pulleys and bowden cable are incredibly overpriced.
