These videos are meant to be educational and funny, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
0:00 Intro.
0:05 "2008 VW touareg. Customer HAD a minor coolant leak so he bought a chemical head gasket sealer. Instead of pouring the bottle into the coolant reservoir, he dumped it into the engine oil. Very shortly after the engine shut down on him. He did not tell me about the drum line coming from the engine prior to shut down. The battery was drained, jumped it and got that wonder noise. The sealer had worked its way into every oil galley in the engine, starving it of oil completely. EVERY bearing is spun, shot or non-existent. The customer will be scraping the car. There is no hope for this engine."
0:21 The technician said it looked like it was broken off and didn't just fall off.
0:28 The floormat was moved and it fixed the customer's concern.
0:39 Hopefully the customer does not get into an accident as that could turn out pretty bad for them!
Looks like the front bolts holding down the seat frame are missing.
0:49 The technician cleaned up the mess of Reese Piece's underneath the steering shaft boot, and it
fixed the customer's concern.
1:00 Spoiler on the rear was screwed in, body damage and the headlights didn't work. As the mechanic said, "used to be a nice car."
1:13 The shop counted $43 USD of change behind the door panel. The vehicle was brought in to get the door lock actuators looked at and the customer didn't mention anything about the loose change or the noise behind the door panel.
1:27 The rear differential was rebuilt and it fixed the issue.
1:41 The TIPM was replaced and fixed the no-start concern.
1:58 No extra info.
2:06 The mechanic is not sure if the customer tried using spray foam to stop the leak or had it their before hand.
2:14 The mechanic did not say where the oil leak was coming from but it looks to be from the front cover but it's hard to tell without seeing it in person.
2:21 Power running boards caused the "seal" noise.
2:28 "All the coil packs were loose. I'm a condition reporter for an auto auction. It was a lease car we had that was towed in and we just see if the cars run and then do our report and if it does not run we send it to our mechanics."
2:34 A new key was purchased and reprogrammed.
2:44 A new oil pan was installed, and the engine had good oil pressure and the car was driven away without any issues.
2:57 No extra info.
3:03 Outro. Thanks for watching!

@@ryelor123Well most of what you said is true. If you know what the issue is, you won't put that stuff in the wrong hole. However, this customer was probably told by a friend that the orange liquid on the ground is antifreeze and that he can use stop leak for a cheap fix. Having only this little bit of information, he walked into a parts store and asked for some stop leak. He then neglected to read the instructions on the bottle and poured the contents into the one hole he knew to be the engine. I'm other words, this guy knew absolutely nothing about cars and engines.

1:13 Owner probably thought his window was a coin-op. Reminds me of a story of a customer bringing back a new car for a weird rattle. Shop can't find it, replaces parts they suspect under warranty and send the customer on their way. They keep coming back and they go through it all again. After countless times, someone at the shop was fed up and started really digging. They found a couple of nuts had been thrown into the fender before it was welded on in the factory. As a joke. With modern production line tracking, they found the tech, fired him and made him pay some of the bills he caused.

Got to love it when people that have no clue self diagnose a problem and send something in to repair that problem and its not what their problem was. Had an electric motor come into the shop last week, customer said they smoked it and it needed to be rewound and it needed to be done ASAP. Ok we get it in, skip normal diagnostics due to the rush job nature and took it apart. Opened it up and could immediately see the windings looked good. Decided to run the electrical diagnostics tools on the windings and everything came back AOK. We'd be satisfied with the results we got on a fresh rewind. We cleaned the motor out, replaced the bearings (which were starting to show age) gave it a test run and sent it back. Customer called back that the motor was still not working. We sent a tech out in the field and found that cable run between the drive and the motor had gone bad. Could have saved themselves 2 days of downtime and rush job pricing if their electricians had spent a few minutes troubleshooting to see if it really was the motor.

when I was learning car mechanic here in germany, we had a customer who made it a point to clean their car before bringing it for any work to be done. one time he apologized profusely for not doing it because he had no time for it. we could not see any difference, they were keeping their ride clean all day. on the other end of the scale was a car that reeked of someone coming off inside. we suspected someone made out on the back seat one time and couldn't get it all cleaned. which was a pity, the car had a very rare interior version...

Yet you literally never hear about accidents caused by mechanical or structural failures of vehicles. Someone on KZbin bought a truck with a rusted out frame and actually tested to see how easy it was to cause the frame to fail. Turns out they can still take a lot before bending and, when they do, its not that bad. Usually before a frame has reached the point of being a deathtrap, it becomes flexible enough to causes other problems that make the vehicle undrivable.

Unless I'm 100% certain, I tell the shop it's their job to run their own diagnostics to correctly identify the issue. I tell them what problem I've observed, and I want them to fix that problem. Took my son's car in to the dealership for routine maintenance. I told them I hear a noise, I only hear it when the car is moving, it get's louder with vehicle speed, etc. I thought it was maybe the transmission, but I didn't tell them that. They called back and said it was just the brakes. The brakes (pads and rotors) were worn and were close to needing to be replaced, so I said cool, fix it. They did, but the problem wasn't the brakes. So they hadn't fixed the problem. So I got almost free brakes, just paid the diagnostic fee. They now said it was the transmission, would cost $9k. But I could tell they were still guessing. Like I said, this was the dealership service center, and if the computer couldn't give them a code they didn't know what to do. I said I'd think about it and drove away. To a shop that specializes in transmissions. I tell them the same things I'd heard, ask them to figure it out. Turns out it wasn't the transmission, it was the transfer case. Which I had them rebuild for about $3k. Car runs great now.

I always tell my wife: If ever there's _anything_ goes wrong with her car; STOP driving it, turn it off and get it flat-towed. People who think it's ok to "Just keep driving to a garage" are either massively compounding the problem or just straight up grenading their car's engine, turning a couple hundred dollar repair into tens of thousands or write-off. Any time there's a failure; stop as quickly as practicable, ignition off and get it towed.
