This is an easy fix you can do with minimal tools and parts , and if you are getting the boost pressure sensor error it's either out of adjustment or you need to replace the entire actuator motor(that was my fix, and adjusting the rod to 4.0V) might need some probes/hooks to get the c-clip off and back on as that is the most difficult part of the entire procedure. You will need a voltage reader also, you don't need a diagnostic computer to do this fix. Once you remove that section of hose that blocks the actuator it's easy. Some other videos don't correctly tell you how to adjust the rod, the wastegate needs to be in the most upright position like he says in this video to get closest to a 4.0V reading. I ordered the actuator replacement online and had it next day cost $80, spend some money on hook tools to get that c-clip off also bought a new hose clamp because the stock ones are a PITA to work with when re-attaching the portion of the exhaust you remove to get to the actuator motor. The dealership service department I went to initially charged me $175 just to diagnose that it was the actuator that failed took them 30 seconds, then they wanted to charge me $800 parts and labor to fix it, fuck them do it yourself if you have this issue, don't get ripped off! Dealerships have no shame and are only worth going to if you need a diagnostic report, anything that isn't warranty work they will rip you off so bad it's sickening!

big help with the PB blaster, i will definitely need to use that on my parts, and to help get that e- clip off. unfortunately, the top bolt on my hat shield snapped in half as i tried to loosen it, so now i'll have to try and deal with that. any tips on how to remove the other half of a snapped bolt still in the top heat shield hole? oops!

Your best option would be to try to use a broken fastener extractor, but if it’s really rusted in there, I would probably just drill a little hole on your already broken fastener. Just make sure you get it centered and use a sheet metal screw, that’s not too long just to hold the shield on you don’t wanna go through the manifold.

I just saw your video and I’m having issues with my 2018 Tucson Limited. I have a question though about the wastegate. In your video the rod for it looks like it’s outward and ours is the opposite. When the wastegate is closed is the rod outward or inward on this? Our Tucson is making a lot of smoke, has a whirring noise coming from the turbo, it goes into limp mode, idles rough,

I haven’t worked on a Tuscon but I would think its similar to the sonata

so i ended up replace my wastegate entirely which fixed this issue, but immediately i got an error code p0138 for an oxygen sensor. would replacing a wastegate actuator cause an o2 sensor to act up? do i have to update my PCM some how? thanks.

Sometimes fuel trims can compensate if you’ve had a problem for a while if it wasn’t enough to throw the light for it, I would try to clear out the codes or disconnect the battery for a little bit that should reset your furl trims to zero and enable the PCM to start learning if you get a code afterwards, and you may want to look further into it

Hi, I'm having that issue right now, 2013 Santa Fe sport. QUESTION???? WHAT WOULD MAKE IT GI OUT OF ADJUSTMENT? THANKS
@TheEnthusiastMechanic
@TheEnthusiastMechanic 3 ай бұрын
Commonly just years of heating up on the turbo and vibrations can cause parts to loosen up also overtime. Metal does tend to change properties being subject to a lot of heat and stress, and that can throw it out of alignment as well.

@@TheEnthusiastMechanicI appreciate your response!!! Mine is already 11 years old, do you believe is better to get a new unit or readjust the old one? Another question, where is the turbo charger boost sensor located on this engine? Code 2562 is what I get and it indicates is the turbo boost sensor. Thanks again. By far, your video and the step by step explanation is simply the best.

@@marcodoz that sensor can be on the turbo or in the intake stream. It’s hard for me to say because every car is different. You can readjust the old one or get a new unit whatever you prefer.

mine was -.3v so i adjusted it, shortened it all the way, now it's .56v , i'm not able to adjust to 4v, does this mean the actuator is faulty? or just the sensor i need to replace?

Is your multimeter reading of the correct scale? Sounds like the meter may be off and calibration or the voltage setting

Hello my brothers hyundai santa fe mk3 comes up with code P2563 turbocharger boost control position sensor - range/performance problem. He changed the sensor to new he bought recently but still goes in limp mode while driving st speed faster than 50 m/hr. Could you assist him? He states that in six months ago it had similar problem but eventually disappeared on it's own but now the problem has come up.

If he follows what I did in the video we should be able to fix that issue unless the rod is bent or broken then he might have to replace it.
