Paul, I really appreciate all of the work you've put into your tutorials. I am helping a friend with something for school using a drag and drop interaction. Thanks to you, I've been able to set up the action and include feedback audio for correct and incorrect answers. However, I want to play a short sound effect when the user grabs the drag source not drops it, like a pick up sound. How can I do this? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Solution: Add a new state, DragStart, Add audio 1. Click the "drag source" object that you want to make a noise when grabbed. 2. Switch to the properties tab. 3. Add a new state > DragStart 4. Options tab > Add Audio If anyone in the future runs into the same question as me. Good luck.

I have a problem adding a gif with audio in the slider playing pauses at the end of the animation. I would like to know how to add several gifs but I continue, one after another without pauses in the chronology ?

I find using video a better option than animated gifs. With video you could edit them together so there's is no interruption from clip to clip.

Paul, Maybe I am missing the video, but I am trying to figure out how to create a drag-and-drop KC. Is it possible to create one where if they drag to the drop box and once they answer all of them and hit submit, the correct answers stay in place, and the wrong answers snap back to the starting position so they can try again? I have messed with different settings and cannot figure out how to make it work. So it's either not possible or I am not doing it correctly. Any direction would be greatly appreciated!

Is there a way to remember drag positions? I am using the drag and drop interaction, not as a quiz but as a tool for the user to place objects randomly on the screen (no right or wrong answer) When the user completes the exercise and moves to the next slide and then returns again (perhaps to reflect) the positions are reset. I would like the objects to stay where the user left them.

Hello Paul, I wanted to create a drag & drop knowledge check question slide when I realized that was not an option in the latest captivate version. What I did next was to customize the drag & drop knowledge check question slide with the help of some online resources. The problem is when I preview the slide in HTML5, there is a big gray bar that appears at the bottom of the slide where the playbar is located. I know that normally a knowledge check question slide does not display a playbar when published. Is there a workaround for resolving this issue? Thank you!

Drag and drop in Adobe Captivate is often mistaken for a question slide. While you can make a drag and drop included in your quiz, it's better to think of as a learning interaction. It's always been this way, by the way. The gray bar that appears at the bottom of your slide is likely the borders that you can add or remove to your Captivate project. Back in the SWF days, this was a popular way to further customize your user interface. However, today it looks very dated. To turn this off, click on the *Project* dropdown menu and select *Skin Editor* This will open a new window. You will see three small icons that are essentially tabs in this window. Click on the second icon that has a blue square in the middle. You can check or uncheck the *Show Borders* option to toggle between the two. If you decide to show the borders, you can customize the width, colour and or pattern of the borders. Incidentally, you can also select the background colour of your browser window if you would like that to blend into your course a little more.

How do you make the try again message appear? I have it turned on and on the screen. But nothing. The correct message appears once all answers are correct.

There is no try again message in drag and drop. Only an on failure message which appears on try again and last attempt. To have an intermediate try again message you would need to write an advanced action.

@@CaptivateTeacher Yes, sorry the failure message was what I meant. It's not appearing at the end. To get around it I made it so that the wrong answers won't drop but I know someone will ask for the message one day. lol
