What a great video! I followed your steps and also have 3 buttons to click before the reveal. For some reason my Next arrow doesn't appear when I click on the 3rd button; when I click on one of the buttons again (4th click) then the Next arrow then appears. My action assigns a value of 1 and my conditional statement requires all 3 boxes to have a literal value of 1. Any suggestions?

Hello Sir, Thank you so much for your informative videos, I would like you to give one lecture on Assessment tutorial in captivate 2019, in 2007 version, I used to make Assessment tutorial (AssessMe) where I use Rollover Image for values, when I publish it in flash format, it wont show any out line of that Rollover image but in contrast if publish it in HTML5, it shows one outline or u may say shadow of that image, so plz guide me

I encourage people to ask for tutorials but there is no guarantee I will make a video, especially when I think it doesn't have a wide appeal to lots of Captivate users. I don't encourage people to use rollovers in their eLearning as it presupposes the user has a mouse and that excludes persons with disabilities and people on mobile devices. I definitely don't recommend publishing for SWF.

Hi Paul for ease I've imported an acordian click to reveal from the assets but can't seem to find where to add the content which is revealed when you click it in HTML preview. Could you explain where to find this please? Many thanks for all your videos

I would likely use scrolling text to provide more information than what the others received. It would be a different procedure but similar.

One question... Is it possible to implement a Drag & Drop activity to this example? Let's say that you asked the students to match the face with the name first... And then, when a correct match is made the the Show/Hide with reveal the text with details of the politician for students to read. Is that doable in Captivate 2019 please?

Yes you could do that using the actions associated with each drag and drop.

Hi! Thanks for the awesome video - I have implemented this in a short 6 slide module where two of the slides have this kind of interaction on it. It works as expected on the second slide, but on the first, the first button will change the multi state object, but the next button doesn't change state nor does it seem to execute the advanced action. I've quad-triple checked the right action is on the button and that the right elements are being called within...I've even tried rebuilding the slide, but still got the same result. any guidance you could provide would be appreciated! TIA!

Try this. Copy the one slide that's working correctly into a new project. Then copy and paste that slide from the new project back into the original. This will recreate all your variables and advanced actions. In fact, you should be able to do this multiple times when you want this sort of interaction.

Have you ever had the issue of advanced actions and shared actions becoming broken or not functioning properly when copying over slides that contain them from one project to another? If so, how did you fix them without having to redo all the actions and parameters? Thanks in advance!

Copying a slide that contains advanced actions and makes use of variables and pasting it within the same project usually breaks the interaction. My solution for this is to copy it to another project file first and then copying it to where you want to use it.

@@CaptivateTeacher I have 2 separate Cp files and was copying over all the slides I needed from one to the other. That's when they broke 💔 😕 So are you saying to copy them into a blank generic project 1st and then copy and paste from there?

@@rebell570 Yes. This way, you can be sure that all of your original variables, objects, or actions will be reused with the right slide. You see, copying from one project to another creates unique names for everything to ensure no conflict. I don't know if this is the problem. Without seeing your project, I'm only guessing.

No but you can perform the same actions that the button performs.

Ok, I have created a monster lol. I have implemented many of the aspects you have posted on multi state objects. I essentially have three fluid boxes with text captions that are being used as multi-state, I have added second state with and a button for each. The learner clicks each button to learn more about the information initially presented. Everything works perfect, the next button is delayed until they click on all three buttons. The problem I am having is that even though I have selected the ‘Stop Slide Audio’ in the options menu for each button, when I preview, I click the button and the main Slide audio continues to play in tandem to the audio I added to the second state of each text caption. Am I missing something on stopping the audio when a button is clicked?

How did you add the audio to the second state of your multi state object?

@@CaptivateTeacher I clicked the mic button on the top and recorded. It works fine until I click while another audio is playing. I think I may need to use an object instead of a text caption in a fluid box but I am not sure.

@@newsgarcia If you add audio to a multi-state object this interaction will not work. You will need to trigger the audio from the advanced action.
