Thanks for the vid. At 1:17 there seems to be an option to use the switches to go up and down in the presets. Do the presets get initiated when you switch to a new preset? I'm selling my M5 because it's too clunky to get around changing presets without midi. I was hoping to have my presets preloaded and just change them whenever I switch to a different song when playing live. Cheers!

Hi Scott! Thanks a lot for your video it's very clear and helpful! I've got a question about customization, is there anyway to change the default configuration on the hx stomp that when you press both FS1 and FS2 simultaneously or FS2 and FS3 it doesn't show like a preset select menu? I'm willing to do this because it'd be cool to change it to Prest up and down or anything like that. It'd be also cool to even turn it off because it's pretty dangerous when pressing those two, the screen changes to that weird menu and you have to step down and change the view manually which is impossible if you're right in the middle of a solo and want to go back to your clean tone or change presets.

Thanks so much my dude! I knew it was a super versatile piece of gear but I didn’t know it could do all that too. Another great pedal to pair with the stomp is the Jet Micro. It’s a 3 button foot switch that connects via midi, so you can free up your expression slot for an expression pedal. Plus it has a dedicated tap/tuner mode and a looper mode, so you can use the 3 buttons as stomp buttons then switch to tap/tuner or to control your looper. Although for those extra features you have to pay more, $150 new or you might be able to find a used one for $100.

But I have two questions: I am using the HX stomp in stomp mode, FS1 toggles between snapshots 1 and 2 with selected colors (e.g. normal and solo) - I would like to have the solo snapshot with bright color instead of dim color, is this possible? FS2 is set to next preset, how can I set a color to it (the LED is always off)?

I love your videos! I use the ampero switch as my footswitch 4 and 5. I'm trying to use them to go between presets but it's not working. Footswitch 5 will go up a preset but I'm not able to make Footswitch 4 go back down. Any advice? Im trying to use global settings and command center.

Scott, can you hook up 2 -2 Button Footswitches? I'm thinking (and hoping) that you CAN, and by doing it, you'd have FOUR extra Buttons to maybe turn Effects On/OFff, or when in Stomp Box Mode...maybe be able to use it that way with the Individual Effects.

The stomp only accepts 2 expression inputs. You cannot get more. You’ll need to use midi in order to get more footswitch controls

Is there a way on the HX Stomp XL to set the Tap Tempo switch to an effect? I know you can set an external switch to do Tap Tempo. With my set up, it’s a bit of a balancing act trying to adjust the tempo of a delay using the on board tap tempo while I’m in mid song. Thanks.

What I mean is can the "Tap/Tempo" switch on the Stomp XL be assigned to function as something other than controlling the tempo of, say, a delay as well as being held down to activate the tuner. Can it be assigned to turn on and off one of the stomp effects. From what I understand an external foot switch can be assigned to function as Tap/Tempo, thus in theory freeing up that "Tap/Tempo" switch for something else"

Hey! I was wondering if you are able to assign the 3 as stomp boxes and then have a press and hold function on the 3rd to still activate the tuner. Meaning switch 3 press would turn on or off the reverb and then if I press and hold it would bring up the tuner. Please let me know if that if a function. Thanks!

I don't believe so, you basically get to assign tap/tuner to a FS (I have it assigned to FS 5) and it's always in that spot.

Man, it's crazy how much customization can be on the HX Stomp buttons! Your videos are incredibly useful, and packed full of information. I'm going to have to watch this one several times. I have a question about something I noticed about what seems like some buttons not being used/available in certain modes. On the HX Stomp, the 3 buttons/turning knobs just below the Display screen, and Page Knob, all appear to be idol for most of the core usage. It doesn't look like they are used when any of the 4 Modes (i.e. Stomp, Scroll, Preset, Snapshot) are active. Seems to me, they could be used to: Turn on/off various features, adjust settings, give access to 3 more Snapshots, turn Blocks on/off etc. What do you think? I do know the 2 "Views - Play, and Edit" use those knobs.

I was curious if I had missed something in the way the unit worked that would render my idea impossible. I always use the Hx stomp in Snapshot mode because is the best way to use the pedal .What if I program one of the footswitches to scroll through the 3 snapshots and let the other two to have different effects that aren’t in the same preset, does the snapshots stay on all the time and can I combine the effects that aren’t in the same preset at the same time?

If you have used a processor , you have noticed when you change the preset by banks up and down it Blinks ...but on the HX stomp .. if you select the preset Up down option .. it directly take you to the preset ...any help how can i get the blink option so that i can select the perfect patch to choose??

I found another trick. If put in the footswitch function " Mometary " and in the command center put snapshot 1 on snapshot 2 and etc in the snap settings you can set the name and color. They will glow dimly and show the name of the active snapshot there will be no double click
