Starting out with the 9013's, (over $600) did a different version of a 360 welt style, added leather mid soles, 3 ribbed shanks, Dr. Soles soles and matching heels, added a wider welt so we could do double stitch, it turned out very cool. The 8138's ($325) was a do over, customer was not happy with the repair so we made it right to make the customer happy. the 9011's ($345)got a basic make over, took out the fiberboard heel rand, fiberboard mid soles and replaced both with leather, then added the 3 ribbed shanks and vibram 700 soles and heels. the 4606's ($585) was brand new boots but the customer wanted to make it his own style so we helped him out. Changed the 270 welt to 360 storm welt, 3 ribbed shanks, leather mid soles, vibram ethon soles, leather heel bases and matching heels, Big improvement.

Double stitched welts can look a bit clownish on some shoes or to some people. Maybe it just didn't look good to the client. 🤷‍♂️

Steve great work. I was glad to see you working on Red Wings, they have changed since my first pair in late seventies, pull on steel toes boot of choice in Oilfield with lifetime warranty lasted till mid eighties, the second pair they changed to injected soles and only guaranteed the uppers to outlast the soles, by the mid nineties they had chunks in the sole and would not repair them, I bought my third pair because I always liked the ease of slip on boots, these new boots are the most difficult pair I have had to break in I’ve done the saddle soap and several rubbing in of Bricks 4 after heating them up and they are not the old Red Wings I wore for decades. My old boots got the treatment my dad taught me, stand in a tub of water till very wet then wear them until dry, then coat them in mink oil. The new boot are getting that treatment next I have only held off because they cost twice as much as my last pair. If you think this is a mistake maybe mention it in your next video. How about, Expresso Boost Time, you and Chris, cracks a me up, laughter is good for the soul! 😊

I can't understand that company like Red Wing can be one of maybe 5 best shoe company's in the world, with little effort and still they don't take that opportunity. I suppose, they work with rule: do least that you can and take most that you can, like 99.99% others. Because of that we did have dream land of 50's with dreams of phenomenal future and today's plastic reality.

To be honest I'm not surprised Redwing is using inferior products to make their boots but changing the price of what it should be with higher quality products. Companies that used to be high-quality are now taking a lot of low-cost shortcuts but still charging a high-quality price.
@SandrA-hr5zk
@SandrA-hr5zk Жыл бұрын
For $350, I'm not surprised. True high quality would probably be closer to $500 a pair. I love watching Rose Anvil to really understand the pricing that goes into a shoe.

I just bought a new pair, first pair for me, of Red Wings. I bought the Iron Ranger (4606) but in women's. I'm a bit disappointed in a few points of construction. I can tell the shank is nearly nothing, the toe box is a bit tight (especially over the stitched section), and the foot bed is extremely flat. I've got space in the heel area and non in the toes. I would absolutely love to use cork insoles like I have in my Finn comforts. I can't find any insole that provides the arch support, fills in the heel space, but doesn't squish my foot. I also don't like how tight the gusset is on the tongue. Even just an extra cm would make it easier to slide my foot in without destroying the heel counter. One day I'll get my perfect pair from White's or Nick's.

Milk Kefir is a dairy drink/food made by fermemtation of lactic acid bacteria and Yeast. Yogurt must have specifically 2 lactic acid bacteria only. Store bought yogurt is made with a freeze dried starters that contain lactic acid bacteria and yeast. As the fermemtation start from scratch the polisaharides are not formed to a visible size(those are called grains) They are just smaller and for this invisible to the naked eye. The manufacturer use freeze dried starters as they need to prevent contamination and describe the species and also reduce side effects. It is not posible to use kefir grains as those frequently contain species that are not recognised as safe. Although they might NOT poison you could deliver side effects and this must be avoided. So store bought kefir is just milder version of kefir due to sanitary conditions and proven species or use of generally recognised as safe ones.
