Customizing the LEGO City Downtown Set!

Today I started working on modularizing the LEGO City Downtown set! This is the largest LEGO City set ever produced! It has some exciting building styles and each little modular offers something different. The set is what I would consider to be one of the best City sets ever produced. However, with that said it needs a lot of work in order to be placed in the city. In this video, I work on the first half, including a barber, veterinarian, pizza shop, and influencers pad.

At this point I'm not overly happy with the look of this mod... BUT it is far from being done and I plan to make lots of changes. That includes the pizza shop, window locations, orientation, pedway.... essentially everything! Stay tuned.

I love this a lot yet! I think the vet shop should have another window! I love the Barbers below and the details it bring and I think below on the streets you should make some smaller stalls in which people and buying things! Overall I think it’s amazing definitely a good one to recreate in your modular series! Best one yet SO FAR ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉

I love the idea of lots of smaller shops in an area like that; it feels cozy and like a place I'd want to explore. I'm excited to see what the end result is going to be! I'm personally not a fan of the larger pizza place; the small one felt a lot cozier. Maybe an idea could be to add some advertising on the wall to make it more appealing. You could also add a airco unit on top of the pizza shack to make that little roof a bit more 'decorated'. Also: Instead of adding the noodles onto the other side of the building; how about stairs that are build into an extension of the building? That'd look neat from the street side. You could even have a little extra wall there with some more advertising (using perhaps parts of the noodle cart).

Looking good! Too bad the Vet is not accessible, you could do stairs up to the roof of the pizza shack and a door from there. Or how about an elevator on the other side that goes all the way up to the third floor. It could be behind the Noodle shop you were talking about.

It is funny how there is a dog in the background while the build is vet (3:36) and it was nice touch to mention another dog at 4:12

I really love the idea, but it's missing some access to the different levels. I would personally do stairs on one side and an elevator on the other. Great job overall 🙂!

Hey Jordan, looks great but there is no door to the Vet…maybe you can add a window or door to the Vet wall on the pizza side. Keep up the great work!!!

Nice build so far, cant wait to see it finished. I have two ideas but feel free to ignore them if you think they don't fit with your vision. My first idea is to either reduce the height of the billboard or even change it's design so it covers the blank wall soke more. My second idea is on the newer half you could probably use some sections from the apartment set since that also has the same system of buildings.

The two plate floor is appearing in a lot of new city sets. The ice cream city shop uses an L version of same type of double plate floor.
