Bricksie, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss of Stella. I had to put my dog Frank down last year (on Thanksgiving of all days) after he struggled with bone cancer and could no longer walk. Dogs are such a blessing during their limited lifespans. I’m glad Stella could provide you with many great memories and comforts over the years. I'm so very sorry about your poor pupper. 😪 That decision is always so hard, but in the end it is the last way we have of loving our furbabies. I always spend more time with my other pets after one passes. It helps comfort me to still have someone fuzzy to hug, and I think it helps them adjust to their friend's absence, too. Give Tiko and Luna an extra hug for me. Stella had a fabulous life with you guys, I know she was very happy to have you all as her humans. I hope you get lots of time over the holidays to fit in some extra snuggles with all of your kids, both human and furbabies. 💜

I feel your pain. I recently had to do the same for my Great Dane / Mastiff fur baby named Odin. He was 11 years old and the arthritis got too bad where he could no longer move around with out major effort. and pain. I still see and hear him. These "echoes" actually help me remember good times.

Hello, I AM SO sorry for your loss! Just remember this: "Stella" had a wonderful life with the family she loves, I'm sure you were there for every minute & even when she passed, this is the one thing any PET looks forward to, to have the ones they love-to see your face when the end comes. At least she's not in pain anymore & is able to run on the rainbow in the sky! I have a dog that is nearly 10 years old, which doubles as a service dog. I donno what we're (wife & I) are gonna do when that day comes, we're just lucky that he is healthy (so far) & happy. He was homeless with us the entire 8 & 1/2 years that we were homeless until FEB 2023. Just know this: FURBABIES are like children, they're a part of your family. Take some time off ok? We'll still be here, I know most of us ain't going anywhere. You need a vacation (Spoken like the T-800 in Terminator 2....lol). Anyway, I am tearing up right now after hearing this news, so.....

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well. As someone who has worked in a nursery school for 25 years, I can tell you that little kids often bring home germs unintentionally. It's important to change their clothing regularly and to wash the sleeves of their jackets and mittens. At the end of the evening, anything that may have been put in their mouths or drooled on should be washed. They are building their immune systems, and in turn, they're helping you strengthen yours as well. I love watching you stay strong-you will get through this!

So sorry for your loss, pets and especially dogs are more than just companions, they are family. I lost two wonderful dogs one week apart many years ago and it still lives with me. During covid we lost my mums dog as well and we couldn’t be with him when he was put to sleep and that still breaks me to this day. Animals bring so much joy to our lives. Stella was loved and that’s all we can hope for for our pets. Take your time, your family comes first. My thoughts are with you all

This is really heartbreaking. My dog also has an enlarged heart and degenerative valve disease so he's on the same medication. He was diagnosed 2 years ago and is 13/14 years old so it always made me really happy to see Stella doing well. I'm so sorry for your family's loss.

We will be here when you come back. Take the holidays to be with your family, they need you as much as you need them. Its hard to loose a pet as they are a big part of your family, as much as any human. It takes time to grieve and you shouldn't be sat at work on your own. I am so sorry... I have been through this a few times and it never gets easy. I had a Lab that through her life developed cancer where we had to remove one of her legs. Then she developed cancer in her sinus cavity where we had to let her go. Please know I am thinking of you and your family through this rough time. You did everything you could and you gave her a wonderful life. She will always be with you in your heart.
