If filling out the customs form online and paying for the shipping do I just print out a shipping label and attach it to the box and have the pickup date scheduled? Or do I still have to go to the post office? Which have you noticed is easier to do? Filling it out on paper or online? Online seems like it would be a lot easier. I'm stressing myself out over something so simple probably. I just don't want to do something wrong and the package not make it to his base 🙈

Thanks for your questions! Once you print out the customs form you can just take that printed paper and your box to the post office, they will attach it for you. I believe you still have to take it in, but you may be able to schedule pick up if you prefer (I just don’t have experience with that.😊) I think filling it out online is easier and feels a little more certain that I’ve done it correctly. I know how stressful it can be, I was so nervous they would return it on me lol! But so far they’ve made it there and he’s been able to open, enjoy, and share the contents! Do you have to write down the weight of each item inside the box or can you just leave it blank on the paper form? I'm not talking about the whole box itself which is weighed for you by the post office. I'm talking about the individual items inside the box. I don't think I'd be able to weigh them properly because some items are light.

What if I have more types of items than there are lines on the form? Can I group them in categories like personal hygiene or do the need to be more specific?

So you don't need to put the weight by each item? Because I have no idea how I'd weigh each one at home since they are like cards and small things

On paper forms no, the post office will weigh the whole box and that should be sufficient. Online you will need the weight. I use a kitchen scale for the small things.😊 Hope this was helpful!

I am an Army wife, so I don’t have experience with that, but I imagine the difference is the address that your Sailor provides you. For example instead of APO it’s FPO, and instead of the Forward Operations Base initials it may be the name of the ship and hull number. I hope this helps!

Hiii, I have a question what happens if I’m sending multiples shirt but they are different ( in designs) for the quantity do I have to put the total number of shirts regardless if they are different? And for the total would I have to put what all of them cost together ?

If you are using a paper form, you’ll need to use more than one form. If you’re using the online form, it should allow you to add as many items as you need.

You do not want to put the customs forms inside your package. Just go ahead and carry the forms into your post office with, but not attached to your box and they’ll attach them for you!😊 I hope this helped!

I haven't tried to mail just a letter to a military base, but I imagine you put the address on the envelope using the format of: Name Unit Information FOB initials, APO/FPO, AE, Zip Code. I would as the Postal Worker to be sure. Hope this helps!

APO stands for Army Post Office. It stands in the place of the city when addressing a customs form destined for an Army or Air Force installation. 😊

It does seem like there is no place to put the phone number, but you can add an email address. Hope it helps!

So update. I finally got around to sending my package to BC, So... But I forgot to put "Toys" on the form. Now i'm scared they'll confiscate it because they'll find the toys that weren't "declared"

I was told at my post office that I have to fill the customs form online. I created an account, filled out all the information and I'm stuck on "An unexpected error has occurred. Try to refresh the page". I refresh the page, my recipient's information disappears, I fill it out again, and when I'm done I get the "unexpected error" again and the whole thing repeats. It is an absolute nightmare and the USPS website is a joke.
