I honestly don't care much about painting, but came here for the custom rifle stock you did. I stayed and subbed due to the quality of the content and great presentation. So I am happy when I see a new CSM video in my feed. I would like to see more custom rifle stock content since I am about to start working on one or 3. Not sure on the materials, but probably a mix of 3D printing, wood, resin and foam, and some aluminum to boot.

I really appreciate your videos Dave. The darker gold looks much better than the original Subaru gold, especially with the callipers in that colour.

I got a question. Is mixing old paint with new a good idea? For instance, let's say you did a job with a specific paint code and years later, you have to do another job with that same paint code, but you don't have enough to do the whole job. You order more. Would it be a good idea to mix the new with the old?

Fantastic work Dave, and a big thumbs up for sharing your knowledge. I’ve got a black STi like yours, unfortunately it’s the bugeye. What mudflaps are on your car? They look subtle but effective at stopping all the fine stone chipping along the sills and lower doors (as per my bugeye). Subscribed!

Thanks mate. They are rally armour mud flaps. 👍

Perfect timing as I'm about to paint my wheels in the next few days!!!👍 One question: I've got your Wheel Painting Kit (in 2K), I'm assuming that the products in the spray cans are thinned down enough to be able to use this wet on wet method?
@customspraymods8 ай бұрын
Yes exactly right mate. I was very close to mentioning that in the video.

Was this done in a warm spray booth or just a ventilated booth?

Just venting no heat. 👍

With wheels how would you go about doing two-tone on wheels? Whether that's paint with a machined face or two different paint colours
@customspraymods2 ай бұрын
@@DangerAngelous on a face with different levels you can paint and clear then once dry paint and wipe high spots off with thinners. Otherwise you can mask like this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJqsoa2CjJaYhsUsi=8oGwApWiAmScXTgC

Stupid question - Why did you have lug nuts in two of the wheels when you were spraying all the different coatings? From some angles it appeared looks like some of those areas didn't get full coverage down in the holes.
@customspraymods8 ай бұрын
Just so paint doesn't get onto the contact area it can soften and cause the lug nuts to come loose when on the car.

Curious if solvent pop is an issue
@customspraymods8 ай бұрын
Never been for me. That can be from applying too many heavy coats.
