That polish did a amazing job. Those style trucks are starting to grow on me. Great idea with a wood bed floor. The front bumper repainted white would spruce things up. If the wheels were repainted white it would dress it up also. Maybe some hubcaps. Knocking out the dent in the front fender would do a world of good. Just some of my ideas. Feel free to agree or disagree with me.

I have a 66 f250 and the front of the bed was bad, but not that bad. I replaced it and the brace with the bed still on the truck, and it was a major pain in the ass. I did it in an apartment parking lot with mig welder though, so that made it harder. If I had a shop I would have taken the bed off.
@left2rot6152 жыл бұрын
Hats off to you man! In an apartment parking lot??? 🙃 thats some serious dedication. I can't find replacement bed cross members and floor so we are going to fabricate a frame and put some oak down and use the stainless steel trips you see in other trucks. I think the wood floor would be unique and easier to come by materials.
@kevinragsdale62562 жыл бұрын
@@left2rot615 the crossmember I used was off a parts truck that an lkq local to me had. They had a 66 f100, and you can only take parts off of it. I cut the truck into pieces and took all the good parts, and good parts of the bed. I cut half the cab off and half the bed/floor to take with me. I made a cab brace in the same parking lot, I'm on all those slick 60s truck pages on FB but I don't really document much, just before and after pictures.
@left2rot6152 жыл бұрын
That would be great to find! I think i will make my own to suitnthe bed and wood. Though i have been looking at cross membwr replacents for other beds that are available as an option. What ever i do it will be soon and on the channel.

I have seen at the least now 3 of those old Ford trucks locally come back to life which they were by the way awesome trucks back in the days. I had a 65 and & a 66. They ride like a Cadillac should. Probably the reasons they got the nic name cowboy Cadillacs. If they had one flaw it was 3 issues with the rear tail lights. One the lights were barely visible and dim in bad weather. The turn signals failed on all of em the wiring went bad. And on the 64 thru 65's series of these trucks they had no tail lights and some of the 66 models had no tail lights. Depends on the production date. By 67 when they changed the body style the F100's all had reverse lights. I have seen a few 66s with reverse lights. Not many.
@richardmitton41153 ай бұрын
I still have the 66 I bought in 79. The only electrical I ever had was a shorted out ignition switch. Signal lights were fine, I did replace the turn signal switch in the column once...and tail lights were as bright as anything else at that time. Brake lights were temperamental, as they relied on a fluid operated switch on the master cylinder. Not sure if I've never seen a "slick-side" with back-up lights? You mentioned a 64 in your comment. Although similar in appearance, they're actually WAY different than the 65-66 trucks!
