But how on earth would this go over anyone's head?? These two need to have a show of their own. Vast majority of non-Kyle-and-Beck SNL sketches of the past 3-4 shows have oscillated between under-written and didactic. Must have been a recent change made in either personnel or leadership amongst SNL writing staff, with the group cool to Kyle and Beck's writing.

considering the money and time that goes into these sketches, I feel like it is a calculated move by the producers. They post them on here knowing that fans of Beck and Kyle will seek them out, and also that people who watched the show on tv will watch them because it's extra material they haven't seen. I think it is done deliberately for this youtube channel.

I just find it hard to believe the producers would put so much into a sketch they were just going to bump from the show to make room for multiple inferior sketches that should have been bumped instead. This kind of the thing has been happening to Kyle and Beck long enough now that I don't think it's a coincidence that their high-production-value sketches keep getting 'cut for time'. To me, it's become a regular feature on this channel, and they can bank on people coming to check it out just for those skits.

The more I watch Kyle's sketches, the more I see just how good he is. The thing about SNL is that is has a particular sense of humour that it broadly caters to. Don't get me wrong or think I'm snobbish; I like a lot of their general output, but I really enjoy Kyle's stuff as it is off-beat and clever, and I love how that in a lot of his skits the humour is subtle and that there is usually a build up to the punchline. I also enjoy the fact that sometimes there really isn't a joke in his clips, just a really good story. It's a shame Kyle's stuff is always cut for time, but at least they show his cut for time sketches and we get to see them.

“Cut for Time” were not cut because they were never intended to be broadcast live. These sketches are created with the intent to be released digitally. Lorne knows these kill and Beck and Kyle’s humor work perfectly in this medium. It’s a brilliant way to recapture the digital audience lost after Samberg/Lonely Island left. But the real flourish of brilliance is letting the people believe that these sketches are under appreciated. Fans get to feel like they know something others don’t, and that sense of exclusivity heightens the appeal. Again, Lorne is a genius.
