Nice one mate. Looking forward to trying this out in our lessons 🕺🏼

Great, mate! Can’t wait to hear how it goes in the lessons!

Plop volcano on them all then you can add an envelope follower in volcano, route the note midi to it, and it will react exactly like the attack, decay, sustain, release parts of a synth envelope on like spire or something per note played. It retrigger every time that a note is played, it will react just like a synth one, for making plucky leads 😊 You can also adjust the amount of envelope sent to eliminate that really low volume at the beginning of the automation lane, and adjust resonance, filter slope and types for taste etc… It’s a great time saver mate!

Great breakdown, mate! That’s an awesome workflow!

awesome to hear that you are continuing to expand and not get stagnant. Ive been doing some of this myself and it feels good man!

Thanks, mate! Expanding feels great, doesn’t it? Keep it up!

I personally use bus filter for everything except the leads. For leads the sweet spot for the best plucky sound in the 'minimum filter' starting point is different for every sound. Sometimes its at 30% low cut, sometimes its 0% or perhaps 10%. And you have to adjust the ADSR envelope mapped to the cutoff filter to get the perfect ratio of pluckiness to length of the note.

Good point, mate! Finding that sweet spot makes all the difference.

LFO / Sidechain almost always last as it tidies up any delay/reverb tail from effects you’ve got on the channel

Good shout, mate! LFO/Sidechain is perfect for tidying up tails.

I’ve used logic’s single channel EQ plugin on bus (or stack) channel. But for leads, like eugene said, I like to individually shape each sound envelope and cutoff

Sounds like a solid approach! Custom shaping always pays off.

I use filters like that on bass, and percussion etc but I think to get pads evolving having them with different filters works
@adamellistutorials12 күн бұрын
Definitely agree, mate. Evolving pads need that extra detail!

To be honest I've never totally understood the difference between an EQ doing a high-cut versus a filter doing a high-cut. It feels like it would be ultimately the same thing, but I really don't think that it is - I have nothing to back it up but where an EQ might introduce phasing issues when doing particularly steep EQ cuts (which might be what's causing the bass muddiness you were describing) maybe dedicated filter plugins have some way of compensating for that somewhat ... *shrug* Out of curiosity Adam, I saw you have FabFilter's Volcano - why wouldn't you use Volcano for this sort of thing over the OneKnob? Just for simplicity's sake?

I never used a dedicated filter; i just use the eq itself to do the filtering or use the built in filter inside the synth.

Great question, mate! Simplicity is key sometimes, but I’ll give Volcano a go too!

@adamellistutorials the ability to tweak the peak and character of the slope can lead to some interesting results. Curious to hear what you think! 😊
