Hey folks! Let me know in the comments below what you thought of the build, if there are any cards you think I missed that would be a good fit for it, and what other commanders you would like to see me cover from this set.
@Josh-Fischer98049 ай бұрын
I believe a perfect deck for Morvo, deep operative would be deck either an Esper Yennet, cryptic sovereign deck or Aminatou the fateshifter as these two commanders love playing off the top cards of our libraries and Marvo is an amazing addition to the 99

Yep, I can certainly see that,

Thanks for such an awesome budget deck guide, can’t wait to try out the deck when I get all the cards. I love your well thought out and well structured deck guides, you are now my go to KZbinr for any precon deck upgrades and/or commander builds. Looking forward to more great content!

Happy to hear that you've been enjoying my builds and that your choosing this channel out of all the talented deck brewers you could choose from as your go to! I must be doing something right!

The build looks great. One thing I personally prefer is more sources of repeatable topdeck manipulation, so I would cut some of the instants or sorceries that do that once for cards like Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Hidetsugu and Kairi, etc. Fated Return is also an interesting option as its a reanimation spell that permanently makes whatever it brings out indestructible. If you play it on your turn, you also get to Scry 2 as a bonus. Auton Soldier is also fantastic since it can copy Marvo, then make myriad copies of Marvo when it attacks, triggering clash several times and potentially storming off with several copies of Marvo all seeing you win several clashes before they exile themselves after combat. All in all, it was a wonderful video and instantly made me subscribe as this is my first video of yours I've seen I think.

I love the deck. I might build it after completing your MatPat (Obsessive Theorist) deck

This set gave me aggro' Dimir commanders; it feels wrong somehow, but it makes me wanna build 'em and try the colors.
@GrazzetMTG9 ай бұрын
Eh, its about time Dimir got in on the fun of turning creatures sideways to win games. Why let Gruul have all the fun?

Got a spare Omni Science and One with the Multiverse doing nothing. Might do this!

I like Marvo a lot. Seems like a more fun narset enlightened master.

Thoughts on focusing on sea Monsters, so can include a Runo Stromkirk secondary commander, as he also wants to cast big cards. Filter top card of library. And hes neat to make copies of the big creatures (even if not two)
@GrazzetMTG9 ай бұрын
I can't sea why not - there are plenty of big "Sea Creature" creatures that we can use to win clashes with, so I can certainly see this being a fun way to build him.
@IslarfPokemon9 ай бұрын
@@GrazzetMTG what I found, is you can use it to cast Slinn Voda off of the clash, and also Kicker it with the additional cost!
@GrazzetMTG9 ай бұрын
Yep, you can certainly do that - as the kicker is an additional cost - making it effectively a 2 mana one sided wipe in a sea creature themed build that also leaves behind an 8/8 as a bonus.
@unseeliedream429 ай бұрын
I bought the Mirko precon and out of the box is not that much. I think this commander is much much nicer
@GrazzetMTG9 ай бұрын
Fair enough - Marvo certainly takes the build in a WAY different direction that Mirko wants to go in (which is a much more typical Dimir Reanimator direction).

@GrazzetMTG But a serious question: could I put runo stromkirk in the deck and what would I replace?
@GrazzetMTG9 ай бұрын
You could yes, but I think we would need to consider replacing a LOT of our creature base with "Sea Creatures" to make him worth running. That said, I would replace Shard of the Void Dragon with him - since we'll be cutting a lot of our non-sea creatures anyway to get more mileage out of Runo.
@roborob60339 ай бұрын
@@GrazzetMTG I can see the angle of the sea creature. He still makes copies of any creature, just 2 if it's a sea creature.
@tacksoonplace17319 ай бұрын
I put in creatures to could copy the commander but they remove legendary
@GrazzetMTG9 ай бұрын
Yep, non-legendary clone effects would fit right at home here - either to clone Marvo to get more free spells as he clashes, or to just double up on the legendaries he cheats into play to put even more backbreaking effects into play.
@tylerrusnak77369 ай бұрын
I think that this is a pretty fun commander, however, as someone who runs the blue braids as a commander deck, I feel that this commander could sorta stall or have its big, flashy, high cmc spells not be worth it in most cases. It's fun, sure, but the fact it works on attack does hinder it a bit.
@GrazzetMTG9 ай бұрын
True - though I will bring up the counter point that having 8 toughness does help it survive attacks intially - even on boards with multiple blockers - and the build does have a handful of ways to make Marvo evasive to still allow it to get in even on more clogged boardstates. And also remember, this ability procs of clashes in general, not just the ones he causes, meaning clash spells will also proc this to let us cheat spells into play outside of our turn too - making this ability a bit more reliable to proc than it would seem at first glance.
@tylerrusnak77369 ай бұрын
@@GrazzetMTG True, and those clash cards do synergize pretty well. (I guess I may be biased as my pod usually runs an absurd number of token decks. Just last night one guy had over 300 tokens total.) Thanks for the guide! These deck videos are very helpful! I took some insight from the pirate precon upgrade deck tech and am having a blast sailing the high seas with my pirate crew!

Gud job
@benrichardson56629 ай бұрын
Hear me out: Shadow of Mortality. Yes you can't cheat it out, but it virtually guarantees you win a clash, and if you can swap it onto your top deck and that's the only reason I would bother to use it.
@GrazzetMTG9 ай бұрын
Interesting suggestion. I would say that having a CMC 15 spell on tap to win clashes is not a bad idea per say, but it being (virtually) useless outside of that makes me take a pause. I would have to test to see if it would be worth running.
@lloydnoid65062 ай бұрын
8 is no different than 15 when the average CMC of every deck is 3. Either way, you're winning. The only situation where you miiiight not is if you're targeting the simic or gruul player. And at that point just target someone else.
@Galchoo19 ай бұрын
You lied to me! But it's in theme for the set, so I'd give it a pass. Take a proper break next time, OK? As for the vote... well, Gruul Facedown is fun, while the other two options are a bit meh. Day 298 of waiting for the face reveal. Is there a card you despise OTHER than The Henge?
@GrazzetMTG9 ай бұрын
To be fair, I also lied to myself! But I will try and take a proper break at some point (maybe....). And as usual, thanks for commenting and voting! Now, while The Great Henge is the most popular target of my undying hatred - Guardian Project was also on that list until it recent reprint made it more accessible, and Doubling Season and Anointed Procession currently on that list due to them being relatively old cards that "staples" for the decks that play them but WotC has not given a proper reprint outside of premium sets to bring down their price. Still they are no where near the level of distain that I have for The Henge, since the main issue I have with them are their price, while with The Henge its the price AND the fact that it is too generically good for any creature based deck in green.
