I've only just watched this video for ideas on upgrading this deck. Great video! Be careful with Sword of Hearth and Home. If you give dogmeat the sword all other green and white enchanments/equipments will fall off that are already equipped, and you can't target him with any as well. I did not hear this in the video and just wanted to put this out there.

Thank you for this! I've built tons of decks but none around auras/enchantments/equipment that weren't just straight up voltron, so it's extremely helpful to see you reason through additions/cuts.

Great video, as always. The only cut I disagree with is the Pip Boy 3000. I think it gives you great value and essentially equips itself for free with the untap ability. Plus with the looting you have the opportunity to bring back some of those auras/equipment later.

That is a fair assessment honestly. Personally, the issue I had with it was that (in testing anyway) I always had better options. If I needed +1/+1 counters, Tarrian's Soulcleaver and Well Rested, if I needed graveyard setup, Dogmeat and our opponents tend to do that just fine for us, and for on attack ramp we have Sword of the Animist and Sword of Hearth and Home. That said, while these all do an individual mode of Pip Boy 3000 better, none of them can do all 3, making it very flexible - so I can see the argument for keeping it in the final build without sacrificing too much power in the process.

The comment this time is for you and for a friend who'd love these; don't misread me, Beyond is still okay in my books, but in a world where Rosewater himself has called the time on Universes within knowing this IS the game going forward kinda hurts. Fair enough. Personally, I enjoy seeing different IP's appear in the game and have been able to find at least some measure of enjoyment out of all the Universes Beyond stuff released so far - but I can see how some folks don't want MTG to turn into Fortnight. Though having a commander game with The Burger King Food Tokens vs The Energized Bunny Energy vs One Punch Man Voltron vs Dominic Toretto Vehicles would be pretty funny.....

This is the first upgrade guide I've seen that I actually have all the upgrade cards for lol. I happen to absolutely love equipment. Makes me curious if some of these upgrade pieces will be in OTJ and MH3.

Well, it may be a sign that you need to build this deck then! But seriously, regarding reprints - not sure if we'll see any substantial ones on Outlaws of Thunder Junction (though we may see some new "legally not a gun" pieces of equipment to add to the build), but anything can happen in Modern Horizons, so we'll just have to wait and see!

I love soulcleaver but I think taking out pip-boy is a mistake, I’d make that cut elsewhere

It hurt me to take out Pip-Boy 3000 (since it is such an iconic card) but it never did enough for me in testing. If you want to keep it in however, we slot it back in and then replace the War-whip we added with Soulcleaver as a substitute. May not be as efficient, but certainly more flavorful!

Regarding the pronunciation for Caesar's name - he refers to himself as with the "Kiazar" pronunciation , which from what I understand is the traditional Roman way to pronounce it, while other people refer to him as "Caesar", which is the more common way to pronounce it. So I went with the former since it is what he refers to himself as. I personally have not had the time to play any of the Fallout's personally, through I do know quite a bit of lore from it from watching TheEpicNate315's videos on it (and Elder Scrolls too, which I have played).

Thanks for posting this! In general you think the ramp from the creatures / equips makes up for not changing the mana base in this deck?

My pleasure! In testing, I found that the decks landbase was serviceable enough that I could leave it as is and dedicate the entire budget into overhauling everything else but, as a general rule of thumb, I would recommend speeding up the mana base if you have any extra budget to help improve performance even further (swapping out the Temples for Painlands for example just to quicken up our deck in the early game).

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! The build already has 11 pieces of ramp and a relatively low curve (which I feel is enough), but if you feel like you getting hard stuck on land drops - Kodama's Reach would make a fine addition to help smooth that out, though Skyshroud Claim may be a bit of overkill (in my opinion) since it is a bit slow at 4 mana and we don't have that many dual lands with the forest basic land type for us to use it on in this build. It does get better though if we're running more duals that are also forests such as checklands and the triome for these colors - but that also requires a more expensive mana base so there is that. Hope that helps!

If you feel like it needs more ramp give utopia spawl or more aura enchantments a try as they will have better synergy.

Not any time soon I'm afraid. Generally once a new set comes out I have to move on to it and I have yet to have the time to return to older sets to tackle older commanders. Maybe someday I'll have the time, but sadly not any time soon.
