@@craftybomb823 Why do you think that? They're incredibly smart and can solve all kinds of puzzles and be taught to do amazing things. They use rats to sniff out mines because they're too light to set them off and one won a medal for it. Not only that but they're incredibly tidy and can be taught to use a litter box, plus they clean themselves constantly and wash their face before and after eating. They also recognize their owners and get excited when they hear a certain person's voice, plus they're social and actually enjoy the company of humans rather than just the food. Not to mention there's evidence that rather than the fleas on the rats, the plague was actually spread by human lice.

My chinchilla used to sleep on my butt. he was so cute and hurt my neck so bad. But worth it. Fun fact, the vet found out that he was way older that we thought. They estimated around 17 and we were told he was around less that ten when we got him.

This reminds me of my chinchilla Fin so much... Sadly, he had to be put down because his entire left sinus was clogged. He was such a good nugget and and he cuddled a lot. I got him for free from a teacher from my school. He was four years old at the time he was euthanized.. but he will always be the best nugget (also he passed about a year ago and I still find his little poops in my room like fin wth man why is one of your turds IN MY BED?)

I don’t know which is cuter, the squeaky noises they make or they way they bounce around like mini kangaroos! Ever see an adult one in action? They just ping-bang-boing all over the place on those hind legs, it’s absolutely wild!
