Actually in natural elephant behaviour they would just lift their trunks towards a human, smell them then bring the trunk back to the mouth to expel the air from the trunk and "taste" it. These elephants are just trained to actually make contact because humans see it as "kissing" and are prepared to pay elephant jailers money to be photographed like that. Most of the clips don't show elephants "trolling" anyone, just doing what their captors have trained them to do in order to get money from tourists.

What is shown in the video is not moral and the rest doesn't matter, to get a different perspective, try replacing the elephants with people, how would you feel about it. Pd: up until last century, certain people with defects were used for the fun of others, it is not as different from this as you might think. It is entertaining yourself at the cost of another alive being who is not having fun with you.

@@julia1199 Not at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Lucy, an Asian elephant, is very well treated. She goes for strolls and she has a whole building to herself, complete with a backyard and shower. She always has a group of workers around during her strolls, to keep the path clear of guests. No one except workers are allowed to get close to this 80 year old girl.

Considering putting them in captivity is the one sure way of knowing what will happen to them, unless we hold many kinds of animals captive we are already artificially selecting the animals that survive and those that don’t. But first humanity (that means you and every other nutcase in this comment section) has to recognize and accept we are an overreach of evolution, and as a result for all animals to survive extinction, they have to adapt the best to our presence. And we happen to make it easy because we’re empathetic towards animals that make cute noises and act intelligently toward us. So that would allow elephants, octopuses, all pets and current domesticated animals, some species on the fringe of domestication like foxes and raccoons, bees and wasps which can be controlled to an extent, most insects which can be cloned, possibly apes, equines, whales, and many more protected by us for several reasons.

They are one of the planet’s most beautiful, kind-hearted animals. I live in a country where you never see elephants, and so I went to a circus many years ago and although I don’t condone the way the animals were treated, I got to take a ride on one during the show’s intermission. They had a platform for us to climb, my Dad and me, and there was a ring he was supposed to take me around in a couple of times before I got off. Dad was afraid of them but he knew I really wanted to, so he let me go ahead. It was one of the most spectacular things a child could ever do, and I was the only child on that trip which made it even better. I felt like I was on top of the world, indestructible, like what the Ancient Carthage general Hannibal must have felt when he took an army of these massive creatures on a march against Rome. It was an amazing experience, and I hope that if that same elephant is still alive, that he is in a better place where he can be happy and still bring happiness to children the world over as he did to me.

That is a made up fact and is misinformation lol. Majority of the elephants in the video have obviously been brutally tortured/trained into doing these “stunts” so it’s not genuine sadly. In the wild, elephants would never make direct contact, that is something that is unnatural and forced for them.
