A lot of reviewers miss the fact that you do not have to press the start button twice to drive the car. What you are all doing wrong is pushing the button so quickly it doesn’t have a chance to respond properly. Push the button and hold it for a half second and everything works on the first try.

Has potential to be a good used EV, especially for young drivers that don't need range.

I could see this living a great second life as a used car but it has to be bought new first. -Travis
@jamespaul25872 ай бұрын
True, but with its high price and limited size and range, this will not sell well when new in any substantial numbers in North America.

I saw the "Rear Seat Comfort" section of the video and immediately flipped to that just to see if it was possible for Travis, haha Cute car, though!

It's nice. They should have refreshed the old 2014 to 2019 Fiat 500e more. A little bigger battery and they could have sold it another year or two, The styling was more classic plus hot rod, in spite of limited traction control it was very fast off the line

It’s definitely an around town daily gem that you can take a friend to lunch in. Just plan on charging it at home and live the simple life. Hope some least deals get that price down to where it should be. 28:20
@jamespaul25872 ай бұрын
Agreed, but it's far too expensive for its low quality interior and limited features, and for its size and range. It would be a great commuter vehicle or 2nd family car for many if it was priced much lower.

As far as I can tell, the new Fiat 500e is the only EV on sale in the US that tips the scales at under 3,000 lbs. Still heavy for a car, but really light for an EV.
@EVBuyersGuide2 ай бұрын
The small battery goes a long way in that weight equation. -Travis

Mini is barely over 3,000 come I think I'd rather have the Fiat tho

Great personality and a cute car, but priced twice as high as it should be for the size and specs.
@EVBuyersGuide2 ай бұрын
Maybe not twice as high but at least 15% too high. -Travis

Cars have never been sold with a price based on size. Features/specs... it seems pretty typical except for range, which of course is a function of the battery size.
@jamespaul25872 ай бұрын
@Sylvan_dB price is often related to vehicle size (compare Yaris to a Matrix or Corolla to Camry) especially for non premium vehicles such as this, along with specs and battery size for EVs since battery size is such a large part of total production cost.
@jamespaul25872 ай бұрын
@EVBuyersGuide possibly, but even 15% or 20% lower price would still be far too expensive for many buyers based on limited specs for this small city car. The high price for specs and size is the main reason the Smart EV and Mazda EX30 never sold well.
@Sylvan_dB2 ай бұрын
@@jamespaul2587 not really. Compare small vs mid- vs full size truck. Small is unibody and cheap but mid- is only slightly less than feature/tech similar full size. The big price difference is mostly the build - amount of cheap plastic vs soft touch, added features/tech, additional air bags, etc.

My co-worker buddy had the old gen 500e. I had a Smart EV. I could beat him on the range, and price of the lease. After we retired, he leased a model 3, I bought an Audi A3 eTron PHEV. If I were buying new, I would get the Mini. The 500e is overpriced, and I wonder if it will be around in 5 years.
@EVBuyersGuide2 ай бұрын
I had an A3 etron myself, great little hatchback. The Mini is closer to that traditional hatchback use case and that's one of the reasons I would lean that direction. -Travis

It's cute, but suffers from the same problems as all Stellantis products post-COVID. It's at least 20% over-priced, uses sub-par materials, and will likely have a poor customer service experience. Stellantis brands consistently score at the bottom in reliability.
@stevemccormack99489 күн бұрын
Both the 500e and the Mini E are very desirable but they're both over-priced. After all these years of the industry making electric cars, it's still not a viable proposition.
