Puppies are really cute, but they do grow bigger. I talked my wife into getting a German Shepherd and sure enough she loved the 45 days old puppy on first sight. Took just a few months until she started swearing at me for not telling her how big it would become. Was a really good dog though.

Why are puppys always love at first sight. I have three dogs and i live in the Balkans where animals are not so chershed. One i found under a boat, A litter of eight. I took one, all the others were found homes and looked after by a Russan family. One just wandered in. The latest i found under a holiday home.

I remember when I first got a dog, I was 6 years old. My mum said that at that age she reckons that a child will understand the importance of how to be around a dog. I learnt pretty quickly that I had to be patient with it.
