Somewhere in Minneria, wildlife officers found this beautiful and loving baby elephant calf lost without anyone around. They kept this baby elephant secured in an outpost while looking for its parents for few days in intention to reunite the baby with the elephant herd.

My supervisor’s son worked in a Kenya nursery for elephants! He was a missionary and he said there are so many orphaned elephants. Mostly do to humans killing the mothers!

About using the metal nozzle to replace the rubber nipple, the workers should do their best to suckle the baby elephants tenderly to avoid the hard metal hurting the soft tissues and bones inside their mouths. I would suggest always using rubber nipples, particularly in this situation in which the workers are required to handle other things while suckling these baby elephants, and that the metal nozzle may not always settle down at the best spot or best angle to avoid hurting the roof of their mouths.

Tkhan Khan it’s because the mother was not found these people brought the baby to human care. The baby will be sending to the elephant orphanage where you find thousands of orphans babies took cared and released back to wild when they can depend by their selves. These people are experts.

Some times the pochers kill the mother for her tusk. and the baby stay along her side until rescue.

Poaching is at a considerably less scale here. In any case, tusks are not widely seen among Sri Lankan elephants and almost never seen among the females. He was more likely separated wandering off, or running away from predators. Elephants sometimes go into villages and into their fields, where the villagers use the sound of firecrackers to chase them off. It’s very likely that this one got separated running away in such an instance.
