I remember this like yesterday..I was there as a seven year old with my twin brother, my sister, my mom, and my grandma(my dad's mom) because my father was murdered in that terrible act of terrorism in the bombing of the American embassy in Beruit Lebanon. You are gone but not forgotten Dad. I miss you and I love and in the twinkling of an eye I will see you again. 👀☝❤🙏

I knew so many of these young men, having lived among so many earlier in the year. In a new assignment I identified a bomb headed to the British Embassy, we got everyone out safe. But remember also the 118 French Foreign Legion who died the same day in another bomb blast. Revenge is seldom reported, but that does not mean nothing was done.

I grew up in Rhode Island. I was also a member of 1st Bn, 8th Mar. I was Honorably discharged in August 1982. I pay my respects to my brothers who lost their lives in Beirut. May they rest in peace. They will never be forgotten.

I remember when it happened, I was in grade school when our principal son was attacked in that embassy. Luckily he wasn’t there in time of attack. Our principal asked for silence and prayers for everyone and every American Embassies around the globe. She was heartbroken. Our school flag was brought half staff. Also our school is surrounded by several military bases in military city USA 🇺🇸 Texas. Where we had the most US bases on US soil. San Antonio Texas.
