Iss vlog mein jo mam mili thi Cuttack ki, she said that the fort near barabati stadium is "laal qila" where King Ashoka used to stay 😂. It's completely incorrect. It is the historic Barabati Fort or Barabati Qila bulit by King Markata Keshari of Keshari Dynasty.

Hello .. I'm from Cuttack and thanks for covering my City as part of your this nice Vlog.. Just I want to correct one information shared by the lady (Namita) where she mentioned the fort as "Laal Kila", and King Ashoka used to stay there. This information is incorrect.. the fort is called as "Barabati Fort" which was built around 987 A.D. by King "Markat Kesari" (from the Kesari Dynasty). King Ashoka lived from 304 BC to 232 BC, so there is no chance of him staying at the "Barabati Fort"

That "milk cake" is chenna poda. Caramelized cheese cake. One of the most popular sweet dishes in odisha. You ought to have tried it. Surprised you didnt or that nobody recommended before.

First-The kila is not lal kila but barabati fort.Barabati Fort is a 989 AD fort built by Marakata Keshari of Somavamshi (Keshari) dynasty in Cuttack, As per city-Cuttack was established as a military cantonment by king Nrupa Keshari of Keshari dynasty in 989 AD. Stirling based his opinion on the Madala Panji, a chronicle of the Jagannath temple of Puri.The reign of Maharaja Markata Keshari was distinguished for the stone embank built to protect the new capital from flood in 1002 AD.Historical and archaeological evidence suggests Cuttack becoming capital of a kingdom founded by Raja Anangabhimadeva III of Ganga dynasty in 1211 AD. After the end of Ganga rule, Odisha passed to the hands of the Suryavamsi Gajapati dynasty (1434-1541 AD) under whom Cuttack continued to be the capital of Odisha.After the death of Raja Mukunda deva, the last Hindu king of Orissa, Cuttack first came under Muslim rule and later under Mughals,who made Cuttack the seat of the new Orissa Subah (imperial top-level province) under Shah Jahan. As for king Ashoka- Ashoka, popularly known as Ashoka the Great, was the third emperor of the Maurya Empire of Indian subcontinent during c. 268 to 232 BCE. He died in 232 BC. The famous kaling war was in 261 BC. So, if cuttack city was built in 900 AD,that would mean Ashoka died-900+232=1132 years ago. So,how Ashoka lived there?
