I totally understand and relate to Matt about how anxiety has so many different subcategories. Social, financial, worrying about the future, family, big crowds, panic attacks, even having anxiety about your anxiety. It’s so hard to explain to people who haven’t experienced it. That is why people with anxiety tend to be empathetic.
@rix879210 ай бұрын
Their whole conversation about everything being different after high school is so true! Currently 3 years out of HS and sometimes I can’t even believe that I’m the same person that I was back then. It may seem like it’s a big deal at the time, but it’s really just a tiny blip of your life and then you have the whole future ahead of you. I hope this is helpful for some of the younger viewers here ❤ that’s something I wish someone told me when I was younger

as a 22 year old in my 4th year of college, i 100% agree. high school doesn't mean shit and i don't talk to any of those people anymore. not saying that's the same for everyone, but it's not the end of the world. focus on yourself and learn to priortize your own success. it's taken me awhile to learn that and a lot of struggles with mental health and depression, but i'm finally in a solid place in my life. enjoy the time when you're in high school and young, but don't make it a priority. only you can control your life

I like how you talked about anxiety in today's podcast. I also find helpful taking a deep breath, closing your eyes and try to figure out which emotion you are feeling right in the moment you feel uncomfortable and then looking for what made you feel that way is a way to start to make baby steps to improve anxiety. I actually had to stop listening for a second when Matt said he felt like the words were on the tip of his tongue, as someone who writes somewhat seriously I just constantly feel like I have to document every moment of my existence, and recently I’ve been so unmotivated to write because I was starting to think my words wouldn’t ever reach someone else or affect them. I guess just listening to this pod I realized none of that really matters, because even just by trying to express yourself you can help yourself and others understand these experiences, hearing another perspective on the same kind of issues kind of helped me put them to peace a little. Basically there’s always someone out there who’s willing to listen, especially to the people asking about friendships, you will find the people who you feel comfortable around ❤️
@sashhhaa487410 ай бұрын
Thank you for this comment, I personally didn’t send in an advice question but related strongly to the one about falling out with all of her friends since she was 6. A lot of the time I feel like I fell out with my friends over the silliest little misunderstandings to me but to my ex friends they just deemed me as a bad friend. So at 19 i now just expect to fizzle out of every friendship i make eventually because it happens every time, and I’ve started losing hope that i’ll ever have any friends in the future. 😢😔
@jocki_toosterman10 ай бұрын
@@sashhhaa4874 friendships are honestly really stressful and i know it sounds cheesy but the right people come to you at the right time, everything they were saying abt this in the pod is so true. I know it's not really my place to say bc I can't really predict the future but I really do think even if it's later down the road you will find people who will fit for you, also it's so easy to be really picky over your friends but if you have a really good friendship sometimes there are going to be rough patches. (Honestly thank you for writing back to my comment that literally just made my day)
