Is this profitable for a business? How much is the life expected for the laser diode?
@modellbaukalender2 жыл бұрын
For business i think it's not really profitable. It is to slow and too unpredictable. But if you have time and not every cut must be 100% perfect, it is an cheap option.
@Nikolalana3 жыл бұрын
To increase the efficiency of the cut, would be great if a 3rd axis is added, so after one pass, your height is adjusted to have the focal point 1 or 2 mm lowered so you are always going for the max of the laser.... this probably will make the 10mm board cut in 3 cycles. I tested it by manually lifting the MDF thou is very tricky to maintain perfect alignment... would be easier to have a 3rd axis, and do one pass, then adjust height and go for the next pass
@modellbaukalender3 жыл бұрын
I already thought so. Maybe I will add a third axle with the next conversion.
@bacsijancsi3 жыл бұрын
Fantastic. What I already saw on YT was that they needed 5-7or even more passes to cut 6mm plywood at 70% and it even burned a bit, air assist should help tremendously. I will copy your idea of the box and the syringe to get air (1bar is enough as I see it) I got some silent compressor also will buy 10cm tube and an in tube fan to take out smoke to a window. and of course the bad of nails idea is just great :-))))

@@modellbaukalender Hi yeah I made it all and it worked b ut it was still very slow (and because of that it was a bit unreliable too)... These Diode Lasers are good to learn laser cutting also good for paper and engraving (bit evn slow for that) but if you really seriously want to cut than CO2is the way to go....
