The kitchen is absolutely stunning! Thanks for recording building the fireplace, watched it from beginning to end, and kept wishing it didn't have to be Timelapse, it is my son's dream to build one. I sent him the video.

Ya, me too. When I shot that video it wasn’t for a KZbin channel, but only to document some of it. If I had it to do over I would have filmed more. But on the other hand it took me two months to build the fireplace

@@logcabinlifestyle Ya I totally get that. Was this the first fireplace you had ever built? or have you built others? You just really knew what you were doing so I was wondering if it was strictly research or experience. Kinda let's me know if it's possible for us to build one, never having done it before. If research do you have any book or channel recommendations for learning?

My great grandpa never had the power go out. Power did not arrive until he had passed. How shocking the past few decades of progress have been. I appreciate that you took this beautiful cabin built with hand hewn logs and built such an appropriate, wonderful fireplace.

My dream has always been to build a cabin, but I'd love to have a cabin with history. This cabin and the way you've restored it, is just absolutely perfect. The stone fireplace adds beauty, comfort and security. It must feel so nice to gather around it.

This reminds me of work my dad used to do in Cyprus and Greece, wells and fireplaces were built in the same traditional way with stone and stove attached, those skills went to America with the pioneers. looks like granite you are using if you were lucky to have limestone it may be a little easier, you should be proud of that fireplace and stove space, a beautiful job thank you for posting the video to remind us of traditional building techniques
