@pumpupthevolume47754 жыл бұрын
The bigger accomplishment isn't all those cuts, but all those branch and trunk multi-point tie-offs that enable the crane to maneuver those loads so effectively. Would like to see more of the climbing gymnastics to get all that done as well as see the knots to secure it all along with commentary for rationale behind tie-off placements. Some great work there.

The electrical service lines into the house have been temorarily disconnected from the pole and are just laying at the front of the house. the cable or phone line too has been disconnected. Is this something that you have to have done often? Do the utilities charge you for sending out a crew and doing that?
@gorillaau5 жыл бұрын
The utility company do charge over here. They even don't like install a temporary fuse box when a house is being built. The builders are asked to get a generator untill then permanent installation is done for the house.

We have no shortage of those Ash trees where I live. Climate plays a large part in what trees grow in an area. Ash thrive in my climate, as to Elm. Elm more so because the winters are far to brutal for DED to spread. The result is street after street of American Elm. Some others in my area: Trembling Aspen, Balsam poplar, Plains Cottonwood, Western Cottonwood, Willow(various), Box Elder(Manitoba maple), Bur Oak, Siberian Elm. White spruce, Black spruce, Whitebark pine, Lodgepole pine, Jack pine, and Tamarack Larch. The countryside is mostly dominated by Aspen, Poplar, and white spruce. The others tend to be near rivers, coulees or in developed areas.

What I and maybe others would like to see is how the picks are rigged before the cut. Yes I know it would be time consuming and slow the job down but I think it would also be educational so we all could learn something y’all are very good at so share the knowledge of what to and what not to do.
@AugustHunicke5 жыл бұрын
Lee Cooper To see how it’s done, one simply has to observe how it behaves after it’s cut. Every pick will be different in weight distribution but the same recipe: to attach the slings at the balance points of the piece. Or, if simply a vertical, evenly weighted pick, attach bottom heavy. Additionally, you can see in my videos where they are attached from multiple angles. Why show the actual knot tying? If one doesn’t know the attachment knots through traditional rigging experience they are not ready to float out giant picks.
@leecooper73745 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply August. We do the same with steel when we’re rigging it. Except most of the time with steel you want it evenly balanced. Are y’all riding the head ache ball or simply climbing limbs when ever possible.
