You're the first tin banger I've seen use a canvas connector. I spent 45+ yrs I'm the hvac/r trade + all the trades. I've watched a lot of these KZbin videos about making duct connections. You're the first I've seen use canvas. KUDOS to you! 👍

Great explanation. I cut off only the inside of the snap lock, but that works too. I appreciate the details. You covered all the bases.

I use Wiss m5’s and Malco shears to cut rectangular duct. Also I use a combination square to draw the line on the short side. In the case of s cleats I open up the ends with a screwdriver so the initial slide in is easy.

good job ,very clean, but I must warn you from using your Offsets aviation snips when cutting those already bends snap locks, or pittsburgh locks, those Offset snips are not designed to cut those locks, I had a whole jaw flying off while cutting one of those,since then i always use a pair of bulldog snips just for cutting corner locks...thanks for sharing, very clean job.

If you layed both pieces of duct on top of each other and locked your tape at 12 1\2 you could mark your duct out a lot quicker.

Put the caulk on last, at least the outer bead. Then you don't have to worry about messing it up or getting it all over things!!

Been doing sheet metal for over thirty years now.i watch these videos and makes me kinda sad.where have all the real sheet metal mechanics have gone to.store bought and plasma tables have taken the skills out of this trade.we have a plasma and it broke and was down for weeks.younger guys could not hardly lay anything out by hand.
