Cutting This

This new Jeep Wrangler took a HARD hit to the passenger's side rocker panel and this one turned into a much larger repair than expected! Tune in to watch me cut the entire side of this Jeep off and then put this massive puzzle back together! Watch till the end to see how the finished product turned out!

The massive amount of sound deadening foam is hilarious ... doesn't matter what you do in the body panels, you're still driving around in a tent. It's why in the old days the XJ was so popular; it could go anywhere a Wrangler could and it had a roof.

This is why insurance companies are just totaling cars instead of fixing them. Once you get into it it can go south really fast and blow up.

how did u even weld the taillight pocket to the quarter panel if the room was so tight?

Depends on cost to repair vs. cost to replace. The price on Jeeps has skyrocketed in the last decade or so. So I'm figuring the repair was about 8 to 10 grand (I'm not an estimater) and replacement is more like 30 grand so fix it is.

Kyle how long have u been in the trade? Im goin on 7 years still feel like a rookie ? Lol auto body techs deal with anxiety like fighter pilots . Gotta have ice in the vains to do this daily.

@@BlueCollarKyle respect! Ive worked in 1 shop my 7 years in the trade now im swtching for growth opportunity . Any advice ? I dont wana seem unfit but also dont wana be the superman in the shop fixing all trainwrecks ? Lol problem is i started my apprenticeship on the bench oldmen thought it was funny and cool to see a young guy hungry wanting to learn they respected the ambition and taught me well i learned to weld b4 i could prep a bumper lol but i feel like i get taken advantage of the minute new managers see me using the bench. Im good but not the best and in a bodyshop it feels like eithier u can or cant then u become the bad guy if say no.I learned alot im grateful but i want balance .
