The welding setup is definitely an interesting feature of the job! Like you said, you're your own boss, and it's your time, your tools, and your responsibility to the customer. You're accountable to yourself, and if you're satisfied then unless anyone has wisdom that can help you, you can do it however you see fit. I think it's pretty ingenious, and saves so much on setup time, that must have a massive advantage.

What impresses me most and hits me in the heart the most is the partnership between Kurtis & Karen. I have been self employed with my partner Christine for over 30 years and the success we achieved was due to the efforts and complementary skills both of us had. In January she passed away after a 3 year battle with cancer 😢 Now it's just myself and 2 dogs. All the property, machinery, tools etc I have or could desire could never make up for the loss of the one you loved and worked with for such a large part of your life. Treasure every moment you have together Kurtis & Karen, (along with Homeless), they'll be the best times of your life. Running your own business on your own is no fun. No one to do the admin, correct your mistakes, be there when you fall or hurt yourself doing something risky, get in the way with a camera and giggle at everything 😀 Take care and keep up the good work on your channel. Don't mind me if I shed the occasional tear.

When I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2012, I was a one man band doing radio station maintenance for 12 stations across sw Ontario. After surgery, I couldn't safely drive for about six weeks. My wife of 50 years married at that time, drove me all over the place and while I did the work, she sat in the truck, or station if there was space, and did her knitting. She passed, suddenly, at the beginning of Covid, maybe one of the first cases, we dont know for sure. 55 and a half years we'd been together.

@brentbosworth88456 ай бұрын
You asked for my thoughts... and it's just that. As a Machinist all of my career and now retired, You do very well as a jack of all trades it seems like. I see that maybe the distance between the bores doesn't matter much? As you did one bore at a time. FYI, if it was a critical part, you could line up the bores on the part to a slot in the table with pins so it will be parallel with the "X" dimension on the table. Then center the 1st bore and use the dimension given to be sure the 2nd bore was correct. Remember, these are my thoughts, don't shoot me :) Love watching you work, and the birds, dog, and your wife's edits at the end is great ! LOL

Even if a big spark dropped onto the milling table, and managed to get through the splatter spray ... it wont hardly stick ... that's why welding tables are made out of cast-iron. Really saved a lot of time on this job!!

I worked at Foley Cat in NJ. And our welders, still have to weld up everything by hand especially doing line boarding. Its nice when you have to notch tools, makes the job go alot better and faster! Great job as always!!

This is the absolute best start to my Friday mornings, here in South Africa. Your guys' video style is something I aspire to for my own channel, but I am still soo far away from having the confidence and the skills, at least your bloopers at then show that it is not always as natural and smooth as it seems in the final edit.

Keep it up mate! A lot of work goes in to making quality videos, we're always trying to improve and glad you enjoy watching
