The welding setup is definitely an interesting feature of the job! Like you said, you're your own boss, and it's your time, your tools, and your responsibility to the customer. You're accountable to yourself, and if you're satisfied then unless anyone has wisdom that can help you, you can do it however you see fit. I think it's pretty ingenious, and saves so much on setup time, that must have a massive advantage.

What impresses me most and hits me in the heart the most is the partnership between Kurtis & Karen. I have been self employed with my partner Christine for over 30 years and the success we achieved was due to the efforts and complementary skills both of us had. In January she passed away after a 3 year battle with cancer 😢 Now it's just myself and 2 dogs. All the property, machinery, tools etc I have or could desire could never make up for the loss of the one you loved and worked with for such a large part of your life. Treasure every moment you have together Kurtis & Karen, (along with Homeless), they'll be the best times of your life. Running your own business on your own is no fun. No one to do the admin, correct your mistakes, be there when you fall or hurt yourself doing something risky, get in the way with a camera and giggle at everything 😀 Take care and keep up the good work on your channel. Don't mind me if I shed the occasional tear.

When I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2012, I was a one man band doing radio station maintenance for 12 stations across sw Ontario. After surgery, I couldn't safely drive for about six weeks. My wife of 50 years married at that time, drove me all over the place and while I did the work, she sat in the truck, or station if there was space, and did her knitting. She passed, suddenly, at the beginning of Covid, maybe one of the first cases, we dont know for sure. 55 and a half years we'd been together.

You asked for my thoughts... and it's just that. As a Machinist all of my career and now retired, You do very well as a jack of all trades it seems like. I see that maybe the distance between the bores doesn't matter much? As you did one bore at a time. FYI, if it was a critical part, you could line up the bores on the part to a slot in the table with pins so it will be parallel with the "X" dimension on the table. Then center the 1st bore and use the dimension given to be sure the 2nd bore was correct. Remember, these are my thoughts, don't shoot me :) Love watching you work, and the birds, dog, and your wife's edits at the end is great ! LOL

"Cats and skinning" stuff. Great approach and true Craftsmanship. Thanks for showing the entire process (thought and execution). You saved your Customer tons of money by taking this approach ... multiple set ups costs money and unnecessary as the bushing is "swivel" so lots of tolerance in the end. You two may not fully understand the knock on effects of your videos for future Generations but it is surely embedded. 40 years in Aerospace (where the overall tolerance stack up of the OML of the Aircraft is +0.000/-0.009") and current Gen's appear to be "Ah, just toss it in the machine and push some buttons" to achieve good results ... yeah, I watch each step carefully Kurtis and you're spot on every time.

These are industrial machines, yes you look after them but you use them up over time, and therefore the ultimately are consumables. Hello CEE team, weekly greetings from Belgium. Another job well done, without any drama's...(nice way to start the weekend). Smart move to keep those rails as riser blocks and having an shop build alignment tool 😁. Actually, my grandfather & me, kept as well our workpieces on the machine bed as well, start welding. It saves lot of setup & machining time and possible reducing the end bill of the customer. Enjoy your weekend, have a few 🍻🍻.

Since the first video, I've been waiting for Curtis to do this type of work on the milling machine. We had a similar setup, but with an insulated machine table and stand for the welding machine, which we could bolt to this table. Ideal for equalizer bars. Thank you both for the great Videos and Greetings from Austria (Europe).

When you say people will disagree with you, that is fine. But, one of my favorite part of watching your videos is seeing you come up with better and faster workflows!! So many of us get stuck in the “we have always done it this way” rut. I just don’t think your wired that way, it seems like you are always looking for better ways to get it done. THANK YOU for putting up with the videos and too your wife for doing such an incredible job making them!! It is more appreciated than you know!! 😊

Even if a big spark dropped onto the milling table, and managed to get through the splatter spray ... it wont hardly stick ... that's why welding tables are made out of cast-iron. Really saved a lot of time on this job!!
