Hi everyone!
in this episode I'm starting a new scratchbuilt diorama! This time I'll make a super computer using a running hamster ball as a starting shape. Join me in this new journey and super challenging build!

Excuse me sir, I am from the hamster defend legal team. We are going to fight the eviction of my hamster clients. Return my clients home as you found or I will be forced to take this case to court.

I’m so curious about your workspace and organization method. Would love to know more about your system of labeling all the drawers! Great build too of course!

I'm constantly changing my organization system and trying ideas, but I'm getting closer to something I feel is ideal, which is basically small bins for most used shapes, big organization plastic boxes and tools hanging right in front of me :)

Oh I wish, but not even a quarter of that value! I buy the cheapest bins I can find and use a ton of reclaimed wood and acrylic!

Have you thought about adding magnets so the central ball shape can levitate? Or perhaps fixing it to a small revolving turntable?

Can't wait to see the end result on this one. Big mecha are always cool but it is always great to see large industrial set pieces and background items help flesh out the imaginary world. I would have taken the lazy option on the fans and 3D printed some crazy fan designs so I could include a small motor in them. Hope you find a second fan that fits.

can you try to add lights that change colour like rgb pc with wires lighting blue or green color and water or gel flowing through them or something like a gluestick with parallel scratches on it will give it matrix like look, so try it it would look cool

hamsterball has great possibilities ! I have built a spaceship using a ball-float from a wc. cistern .

1:00 IIRC, gyroid infill is one of the slowest options. For me, "Cubic Subdivision" is 17% faster. Since these are greeblies/details and not functional parts, less infill is viable. Strength mostly comes from the outer wall count. If you are using Cura, "lightning" infill is worth playing with (20% faster for me than gyroid). Personally, I use 40% cubic subdivision because it works like internal support for top layers and has fine enough gaps that my printer gets better quality. I can probably use 20% no problem but I have the filament and the time so I make a tradeoff. 40% is only 6% slower for me.

Looking good, already. Does it have to be 2 fans.? Couldn't the second appature be an entrance hatch to a lower, maintenance- floor?

suggestion 6:13 part, maybe try connecting it to 1:00 holes via small tubes or a large singular tube. or Do combine them all. making it look like an artery add a large or small access panels near or far from the computer? messy cabbling/organized cabbling to add for the 6:13 part? small(or any sizes) canisters beside the 6:13 part? -canisters like for cooling or some important part of the computer itself being removed for maintenance? -or a part that requires constant replacement and repair rail system for the arm connectors at the base of the computer??? OH arm connector = many wiring = many tubes since it tranfers alot of information from the computer Or maybe try attaching the tubes underneath the computer? making the underneath look like tree roots But I suppose you already knew these ideas : D

This is excellent work! It also proves that even in this new era of 3D Printing, there is still a place for traditional "greeblies" made from repurposed "found items." Chief among these found-items is the Hamster Ball, that has a LOT of scratch building potential. As an aside, Randy Cooper's famous scratch built "M.L.E.V.-5 Mars Hopper" (that was later kitted by Pegasus Models) began life as a humble Hamster Ball. I hope your Quantum Computer gets similar recognition . . . .
