Cutty Sark - part 1 Making The Skeleton (phase 1)

In this video i start to make the skeleton. This is new for me, i have never seen a skeleton like this one. Because i have to let the glue dry in the main part, i am working on the rest of the pieces and prepare them for the wiring.This Video comes in 1080p.

Hi John. I'm jealous! :-) I built this kit back in the 1980s. Then, the skeleton parts were not laser printed but merely printed on the wood. I had to cut out every piece with a Jewler's saw. What a pain ! It does build into a nice model though. Good luck on the build ! I'll be watching with interest.

John, I finished my first wood ship, with your help for techniques, last August. It was a two-master, the Artesania Latina 1/50 Swift Virginia Pilot Boat 1805 purchased in 1984 for my Dad who never touched it. It came out great after 16 months. What should I build next? Not, I repeat NOT, the Victory. 😂

That's good news!!! Try La Candelaria. If you want to make it a bit harder you can go to Beagle. I have series for both of them :)

Hey John, super excited to see this one. Obviously you won't need a new project for a while, but as a submariner I have to ask if you've ever considered doing a submarine model? I think your skill could do some really amazing things with metal weathering and detailing. Hope the year treats you well.

Hi James! To tell you the truth i was thinking of making sometime a WWII German submarine. The only thing that stops me is that they are made out of plastic. I don't know if there are wooden ones but the detail won't be the same. Happy New Year my friend!!!

Hello John and best wishes for 2024 being a better year than 2023 for us all. I remember you using an Arrowmax cordless pen sized drill/screwdriver. Do you still use it? What is your opinion of the tool?

Hi James! Happy new year! yes i still use it. It is not made for heavy duty jobs and the drill tips are not the best quality around. But it is very handy when you need to make a lot of small holes and with precision.
