Cuyahoga Valley National Park lies along the Cuyahoga River between the Ohio cities of Cleveland and Akron. The Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail is a restored section of the canal's original towpath. In the park’s north, the Canal Exploration Center details the 19th-century waterway’s history. Towering Brandywine Falls is one of several waterfalls. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad runs through the park. A trip to Cuyahoga Valley National Park offers a diverse array of activities. Whether you prefer attending ranger-guided programs or exploring the park on your own, you can find something to your liking.

Well done overview of the park! I’ve been to 34 of the nation’s national parks and I’m a local to CVNP. I really like your honest and positive take on this park...it definitely is weird...but it’s silly to me to think that every national park has to have the grandeur of the Western parks. Parks are for people, and aren’t so much just about the land. This is a unique place to have preserved, and I agree that it is an important one. Had this park not been created, it’s likely this land would just have been superfund sites and cookie-cutter subdivisions instead.

I grew up in northwest Pennsylvania so I've visited CVNP a lot. It's a charming and unique place that I have to admit I came around on. I think it's extremely important in terms of the future of conservation, especially around cities. It's a worthwhile place that I'm glad was preserved and highlighted as a National Park. Thanks for the comment!

The thought is nauseating to think about. We need to protect wild places from the ravages of greed.

This video is super well done. Like the other commenter, I've been to 30-some parks so far. This was going to be a park we fit in sometime when we are passing through but I'm now excited to spend time there. Its great to know some history and know what to expect. A neighbor works for the NPS doing historic renovation project management and it'll be fun to chat with him about Cuyahoga.

@@megatheriumclub You're welcome! I've been bike touring all over Florida but this is going to be my month long Amtrak and bike trip. So the plan is to bike from Cleveland to Cuyahoga by Ohio to Erie bike trail, it goes right through park. Is there are anything I shouldn't miss while there? What's the biggest attraction?

This park is located in the north- eastern part of Ohio.The park covers an area of 133,33 km. The name of the park comes from the walley of the Cuyahoga River floving through the park.National Park offers a diverse array of activities .Whether you prefer attending rauger- guided programs or exploring...I visited it once in my life over the weekend, I think I will come back here again. It's a long way from Chicago. Thanks for the interesting video and news. Greetings to the entire state, the people of Columbus.

If I were to come stay nearby to explore the whole park, how many days would you say it would take? Thank you.
@megatheriumclub
@megatheriumclub Жыл бұрын
You could force it in one whole day, but two days would be enough to see all the highlights. If you want to bike all the trails and hike a lot you could do it all in 3-4 at most.

To be honest, I'm surprised it's a National park at all. It used to be a state park & I think that's the status it represents. It's beautiful, but I'm someone who's been to many NP, I'd be disappointed if I drove hundreds of miles to see woods you can see in most states. At least it's free.
