This was one of the greatest things I have ever seen on KZbin. Time can't erase greatness.. This was as good as it gets.

Dreaming in black & white! I vividly remember the joy of regularly watching Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops. Unfortunately, I actually have very little memory of any actual performances unless they rebroadcast later in my life. I was eleven when this was originally broadcast. I was out of the country during the Bicentennial 4th of July festivities (and furious about it!) This episode is new to me, but now I can clearly claim that I remember seeing Roy go "woooo, wooooo... chugga-chugga-chugga-chugga"! I am sure that a lot of that childhood enjoyment was bonding with my mother. Although it was from the John Williams era, our favorite was with Victor Borge as guest. I regret that my mother is now only here with me in spirit to enjoy such gracious KZbin uploadings such as this. Thank you. Love you, Mom! Miss you!!

I'm old enough to remember when Arthur Fiedler was a regular part of our entertainment. He could do anything musical and his guests reflected that gamut. As the song says, those were the days, my friend. We thought they'd never end. We'd sing and dance forever and a day. We'd live the life we choose. We thought we'd never lose for we were young and sure to have our way. Let's share this and other performances of the same ilk and maybe some of what we are missing today in this beloved Country of ours will return. May the United States have many many more birthdays!

Thank you for uploading this concert. I used to love listening to the Pops on TV. Too bad they don't broadcast the concerts on FM or TV anymore. I guess they want people to spend big bucks to see them in person.

I understand in the later years of Evening at Pops it was costing about a million dollars a epsiode to do..

If you could find the Christmas special with the Pops and Fiedler - that would be quite amazing!

I can't remember what show it was, but I saw Roy Clark on a talk show where he said he grew up outside Washington, D.C. and grew up with the National Symphony Orchestra, not country music.

It’s my understanding that the Balcones Fault Austin City Limits episode from 1976 is not available on KZbin. I sure hope someone uploads it soon, though, because it sounds like a good show. I’m particularly interested in seeing the intro with soundcheck and the closing credits. I have to wonder what the empty stage looks like. I imagine it as being a lot like an empty dance floor after the music stops, and there’s a lingering echo of the last song.👍

Poor Roy Clark possibly got a more upbeat reception by the communists in the Soviet Union. This Boston crowd seemed rather glum & reserved especially during his Orange Blossom Special banter

I can't find the answer. I tried "Sound Hound" but nothing comes up. Maybe it is the ending of a song.
