So I have a Bergara Ridge as well. The Ridge has a slightly larger and heavier barrel. It does not have an adjustable length of pull or a flush Mount magazine (2 things I love!). The Ridge also has a threaded barrel. Short answer - they’re both awesome, so it depends on what you’re looking for 😊 Have you watched our Ridge Review?

@@ReviewThisThing Yes, I have but will watch it again. The Ridge seems like a better quality rifle but it’s heavier. The Cascade appears to be lighter and offers more features and better value. I’m going to have to go back to SW to look at the Cascade and compare it to the Bergaras. I liked the feel and workmanship of the B14 Hunter and Ridge better than the T3X but not the weight. I just picked up this model the other day myself. Haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet because I always put 1 piece bases on all my rifles, and this rifle actually doesn’t fit all savage 110 bases, ONLY the 2 piece bases. Which I am disappointed about, but I ordered the CVA base for it today. Looking at your base I hope it’s not the same thing, because the one they advertise on their website has pic slots all the way down it. Hopefully not another shortcoming. I am still excited to try it though despite my petty complaints. Thanks for the video.

Hello, Mike! Well…I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I was told they don’t make the slotted rails any more. The good thing is that it has a removable flush mount magazine, so there aren’t any issues with loading or clearing a spent case. I hope you get to shoot yours soon and love it. I like mine more every time I shoot it.

I love my cascade, I got it in 308. Great feel, shoots fantastic. Haven't killed with it yet. Overall in my view this is a great gun.

Purchased the Cascade in .243 in October of 2020 for one of my sons Christmas gift. Got it for $369 in camo with the cerakoted barrel. Mounted a 3x9x40 scope and sighted it in. The first thing I noticed was the smooth as silk trigger on this rifle. Best trigger I have ever pulled and I have shot tons of guns. He has yet to miss ANY game animals to date. He is now 14 years old and is chomping at the bit for general gun season to open here in Florida. I highly recommend the CVA Cascade!

I have actually borrowed it twice and dropped a doe with a neck shot and a boar with an eye shot. Hands down, the best rifle yet for pin point accuracy.

Did anyone thing the bolt was "sticky" very smooth but doesn't glide like other rifles. Felt one at murdochs today and loved it besides the bolt. Maybe just needs lube

Hey, Mike. The first one I ever held in a store was very sticky. Then when I got this one, it was much better but still not quite as smooth as I’d like. But, like you mentioned, we cleaned it and oiled it a little, and now it’s super smooth.

Great video and of course CVA teamed up with that Spanish barrel maker BERGARA, to make a superb combination! Did the HAWKE scope come included? I already have way too many rifles, and no more room in my safe, so I'll pass, but hey I love by CVA ACURA also with a BERGAR barrel in .50 caliber and it's now my preferred black powder gun. The 35 Whelen has magnum power without magnum recoil and you don’t do much tracking with this caliber. CVA chambers the Scout rifle in this caliber so they already have the tooling to build it in the Cascade. I feel the 350 legend is a bit under powered, not so sure if its legendary.

Bought this gun, three weeks ago, in .270 win. Killed a buck with it first time out last week with one shot at 120 yards. Liking it so far. Shot under 1 inch group at 100 yrds out of the box.

First I want to thank you for quick response on the ammunition for my new 308 cascade I purchased. I took it out to the range for first time yesterday seemed to shoot very well that part I’m pleased with. I just have a couple of questions. When I close the bolt and take the safety off to fire when the gun is unloaded the safety will not go back on unless I lift the bolt back up that doesn’t seem right to me ?? . I also noticed after cleaning that a set screw fell out from in front of trigger inside the trigger guard are .I can’t find any information on that in the little booklet that’s comes with it. Thank you I really like your videos . Have not yet tried it loaded ??

So the screw that fell out is probably the trigger adjustment screw. I’ve read a few other people say that. I’m sure if you reach out to customer service they can send you another one (assuming you didn’t find it). I used to have a video on adjusting the trigger, but I had to take it down. So, when it’s unloaded, I believe that is true with the safety (I’ll test mine to make sure), but when it is loaded, it will definitely easily switch between safe and fire. At least it should. Check and make sure. Did I answer everything???

I’ve never shot a Weatherby Vanguard, so I can’t throw that one in there. For me, the question between the Cascade and the Ruger is easy. The Cascade fits me much better, and in my opinion is built to be sturdier and has a much better trigger. The Ruger is great and crazy accurate as well, but for me, I’d pick the Cascade for sure. Just picked up my 300 win mag this tonight. Took the bolt from the box but for some reason I'm having a problem with it going all the way forward. @@ReviewThisThing Problem resolved, I took it back to the Store I had it shipped to and apparently the bolt had gotten cocked either during shipping or on inspection before it left the warehouse. I also put the Hawke Endurance 30 WA 4-16x50 SF LR DOT IR on it and let me tell you one thing, I LOVE THIS RIFLE! This is one Bad Mamma Jamma and the illuminated dot is the best. Right now I only have a 40 yd setup for shotguns but it took me all of six rounds and I was dialed in. Can't wait to get it out to a longer range just to see what this 300 Win Mag will really do. Another thing, I was shooting off of my Primos Trigger Sticks and the recoil wasn't much more than some of my shotgun reloads. I really don't see the need for a brake. Like I said, love ya'lls videos and if I can find another Cascade I'm gonna get it in 6.5 Creedmoor for Predator's and plinking! Thanks again!

When I was sighting it in the other day I had a black backed target and if it were not for the illuminated red dot I wouldn't have been able to see my aiming point. I think it's going to be awesome in low light conditions this hunting season. By the way I just ordered another CVA Cascade but in 6.5 Creedmoor can't wait to get my hands on it! Also, the bolt will cycle when the safety is in safe mode. I have a Tikka T3x with a two stage safety that when the safety is on you can't cycle the bolt nor fire the rifle.

@@joelachowski2626 so I checked it again just to make sure. You CAN switch between fire and safe with a round chambered. You CAN cycle a round in safe mode. You CANNOT fire with the safety on. Unfortunately it sounds like the one you tried was somehow malfunctioning, which is definitely not ideal.

Some say it's the 3 lug bolt and the stock pillar posts that mount into recesses machined into the action. I was just wondering if I bought a CVA CASCADE could I drop it into an after market stock designed for the RUGER AMERICAN?

Ahhh. Gotcha. Here what I found out. The Cascade is a proprietary action design. The top side of the action is a Savage 110 platform. The bottom is designed to accept a Remington Style Trigger but will NOT fit in a Remington or Ruger style stock. Boyds is the only aftermarket stock maker that makes an aftermarket stock for the Cascade at this time. Others should be coming out because of demand, but that’s the only one right now.

I have a T/C Compass 1 300 win mag and a 2 in 338 win mag as well as a CVA cascade 308 win. T/C accuracy is good but maybe not as accurate as CVA. I prefer the CVA trigger but I like the three position safety on the T/C. CVA seems to have a better fit and finish but cost more. Comparing the same caliber I prefer CVA.

I used to watch his videos because they were so entertaining because he was all thumbs and screwed up continuously. One that comes to mind is he was standing on the other side of a post from the rifle and it was so awkward for him to move the gun around for the camera and he didn't know which side of the post to reach around. Now he is getting so good at what he does, you can count on him getting the best out of whatever he reviews. He never covered over his mistakes and just rolled with them. I once commented on his channel that Ruger would probably be glad to give him $250 for every gun in their lineup to not review them. He replied and said "I'll take it". He has a good sense of humor too.

I bought a NEW sauer sohn s-100 fieldshoot in 308 last winter. Beautiful gun, put an arken sh4- gen II 4- 16X50 on it. My 1st 308 ever. Havent got to shoot it yet, its killin me 😊Starting to hear so much about the 308 may be a dying cal. because of all these newfangled bullets. The 25-06 is my #1 fav cal. And sadly its slippin away too. Im old school, grew up with a 22, a 20 gauge, and a 30-30. Always wanted a 308 and a 25-06 now i got both. I started looking for a savage 11o stainless in feb of 2021. I finally found one last july because i watched a who-te-who video and he mentioned a really kool gun store in tennessee so i found em on line and guess what they happened to have 1 of in stock. Ive thanked him more than once for that one. Savage 110's are customizable and thats what i did. 25-06 110 apex xp storm 24"stainless bbl. Bolt lever and knob replace, stainless trigger gaurd boyds featherweight thumbhole stock in forest camo, bushnell forge 3 -25 X56. Its a little heavy but im not luggin it that far. And its sweet to shoot. Hopin that sauer lives up to its name too
