Porsche 992 Turbo S vs Ferrari 488 Pista

During the Petrolhead Spring Event I have filmed this Porsche 992 Turbo S. It is racing on the 1/4 mile against a Ferrari 488 Pista, F8 Tributo, 599 HGTE, 1000HP Lamborghini Huracan, M4 Competition and other supercars! Who will be the fastest? I hope you will enjoy the video.

I've got one in May - I had 7 different types over 35 years. But the 992 Turbo S is a masterpiece, an incredible speedmonster, but extremely safe and it is also possible to drive with 1500rpm through the city traffic. From 0-60mp/h in 2.6, 2.7 sec. And here in Germany it is also possible to speed up to vmax, about 200mph plus. The best Porsche ever in my garage

Back in 2005 or 6 I read an article in a mag about one of the then released model of a Porsche (don't remember exactly) but I remember the info it had about the car. The most vivid I remember from the article is introduction of the (VGT) Variable Geometry Twin Turbo system and how it regulates the flow upto a certain RPM where it, 'opens up' fully like Niagra and the launch control helps it slingshot like a bat outta hell!! I loved it!! Love German cars ❤️

911's engine is positioned at the rear end giving it more grip on the rear tires vs a mid engine car. However the 640hp flat v6 with dual turbos along with AWD helps it shoot off the line like a rocket 🚀! Add that with a good driver game 🎮 over👌 ! Now the Ferrari F8 in a half mile race would be a different story vs quarter mile but hats off to the 992 turbos S 😊 which is in my top 10 cars to have!

@@alphabeta3383 half mile runs opens the doors to a lot of cars like Ferraris Lamborghinis and the list goes on that will catch the 992 TURBO S and blow past it with ease! But quarter mile racing only a few like the Tesla S plaid and Bugattis that can hang with it. NEMESIS, RIMAC NIVARRA, and a short list of others like the SF90 that can and will smoke the 992 at quarter mile. BUT YOU'RE NOT GONNA COME ACROSS CARS LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME so at the end of the day the 911 992 TURBO S is KING🤴!!

@@alphabeta3383 actually the engines for lambos and Audi R8 is more positioned in the mid rear of the car meaning right behind the drivers head. The 911s engine is positioned at the tail end of the car. That's why it has back seats. Further more the engine is more positioned underneath the bottom of the rear car. It's GENIUS!!! With that much down force peeling off all four tires helps it peel off the line. However the aerodynamics plus torque helping those twin turbos of 650hp reach peak speed 🚄 and it will do it every time without skipping a beat! That car was built to perfection and will probably be the last ⛽ gas powered 911 that will become ICE!!!

Randy Moss is a skilled race car 🏎 driver and he did it with ease but don't take my word for it and watch the video. However in real life situations I still 💯 believe if the two cars ever met on the streets driving 🚗 around from one light to the other A 911 will eat any car for breakfast, lunch, and dinner 🍴 Well except for a Tesla Model S PLAID because let's face it electric cars are the KINGS 🤴

I have a buddy with a 992 type S twin Turbo and that AWD launch control is virtually untouchable! I have a C7 Z06 and I have launch control also but of course its 2 WD and I have around 200 more HP than his Porsche and at launch he ate my lunch, I caught him at about 160 mph and passed him at about 170 mph, and we covered about a mile in that time. In a quarter or even a half mile I cannot think of any factory car that could touch the S type. Guess that what spending another 100K gets you!

Can’t afford one but I’m just a 911 enthusiast. I did drive a Carerra 4S at the LA Porsche experience. Close as I’ve come. But every video I see of the way they launch and the initial shifts just brings back that experience. It’s just visceral. I watch a video and can just feel it. Like a song or the scent of something, it just clicks and you can feel it. Some people cry about manual shifting going away. The way they shift is better than a manual. It’s as self aware as Skynet.
