the fact of the matter is, no one is staring at your vehicle anyway. Like someone walking by says, "oh my God do you see that scratch catching in the sunlight", as they are 3 inches away looking at it like its a big pimple or something lol. As long as you can do simple repairs like this to truck the eye 4-6 feet away - its all good. These are great tutorials to help us keep out cars looking decent with out spending a lot of money

That recommendation about not cutting through the clear coat reminds me of that time when I used a touch pen to remove a scratch from my Jimny's door and all looked great. Then I overcut and burned through the clear coat (by hand!) and ended up having to paint the whole door in a body shop. At least the repair looked flawless, after that. It was a lesson well learned 😢

I don't work in the automotive field, rather IT - in some ways, world's apart. I bought a 2002 Toyota Celica for £800, bought a Veilside rep body kit at £400, so I spent half of the car's price I bought it for! Call me an idiot... And I'd agree! I managed to fit all of the parts, bought a 100L compressor, air lines, paint guns, white base coat and 1K clear. I spent ages prepping the car, learning how to paint over the course of 6-7 months - I only to burn through the clear... I wanted 2 weeks for any solvents to evaporate, and then ruined it. Luckily it was only one panel and the paint was fresh so it's not like the paint colour had enough time to degrade and fade out! I did it in white the first time because it hides imperfections really well! I wanna have another go but this time, I'd be doing it on an E92 M3. It already kills my wallet so I need to recoup the costs of any paintwork needed. At least, that's what I tell myself when I'm umming and ahhhhing about buying nardo grey for it. Anyway I've waffled on enogih. I leaned when painting my own car, that I'd just rather someone else did it because it's not my problem if they fuck it up 😂😂

I found though I had to give it a quick once over with a DA to take some trails/hols out, but I don't give a toss, it saved me a ton of money.......crippled me back though🤣🤣.
