This is all I use. I find either the wool pad that comes with it or the rupes cut and finish are very similar. I use either, this is more something I use for repair type stuff. However i also love the yellow pad and also use that all the time. The finish with the polish is incredible. Great stuff. Specially usefull for getting you out of trouble if you ever make a mistake as well You got it bang on jon as always.

Use a denibbing file rather than sand paper, it will cause a lot less damage to surrounding paint/clear coat and flatten the new paint much better, also wipe the scratch with isopropyl alcohol before applying paint to make sure there are no contaminants in the scratch. Very good result though, may not be 100% perfect but if you didn't know it was there you wouldn't be able to see it which is the best you can hope for with touch up repairs.

Great video, easy to follow. The kit seems a good price, it's just a shame it doesn't include a few small pieces of the wet & dry sand paper as these generally have to be bought in bigger packs, and for small jobs you just don't need 8-16 large sheets of sandpaper.

Great videos and very helpful. I've watched a few of your videos, I am going to try and repair a few chips on my truck. I've been filling the holes with paint over the last few days building them up flush. I gotta say I'm very nervous to use sandpaper on the paint even if its 1500 or 2000. Although your examples are giving the courage to go for it. I have a few questions I'm hoping you can answer for me. I used the touchup match lacquer for my truck colour wondering if you know if the paint is good on its own or if I need to use the clear coat too. Also do you have any suggestions for polishing compound that I should use. Do I use a cutting compound first then a polishing compound or just straight to polish after the 2000 wet sand. Really appreciate the videos. You do some great work Thanks for sharing
@cvrpov
@cvrpov Жыл бұрын
Just go steady. Use a small block when sanding..plenty of water. Maybe a bit of soap or car shampoo for lube. 1500, 2000 and 3000 then a good compound. I like farecla g360. www.paintgear.co.uk sell some in 100g tube.

Great video with great advice! Very similar to ChrisFix's scratch repair guide. I do have some questions however. I happened to drop my motorcycle and i have a little concentrated bundle of deep scratches that I am repairing. I have purchased a paint match kit that came with the paint and clear coat. Since the scratches are very confined, do you suggest just taping off the area and filling in the scratches without necessarily worrying about the accuracy of the paint placement? Once all scratches are filled I intend on wet sanding until flush and applying 2-3 coats of clear to the repainted area. Wet sand again and buff for a nice shine. Your thoughts or tips are welcome :)

Thanks Kevin if you ever get chance to drop us a review on Google or our website then that would be great. Not sure on the chrome question. AFAIK there isn't a paint that will replicate that kind of finish.

Wet sanding master! I've been able to work on scratches with a lot of confidence. My only concern was keeping the clear coat from being too low
