CONTINUED FROM 1: There are two ways to do diagnostics, procedural and symptomatic. In the past, often times when I saw a vehicle I would say, I've seen this before and it looks like that car a few months back. But, I know better, I continued with the proper steps in the diagnostic process, never skipping. Over the years, I knew if I do that, my diagnostic time is always shorter and precise. It may be longer on some vehicles, but overall procedural D is always on the money and shorted. THanks.

Yes Briansmobile1, but most of what I do is based on experimentation. Years ago I worked on a complex hydraulic system, non-car related, and did the same thing of using multiple pressure sensors to determine faulty solenoid. Then in the late 90's I started seeing and experimented with some CVT, I think they were from Honda and kept doing that to develop "Procedures". To me procedures are very important. I always practiced procedural diagnostics. CONTINUED 1:

I have a 2015 Nissan Versa with a transmission problem. The tranny shakes for a second or two when the car comes to a complete stop. There's quite a few things to mention here but I'll try to keep it short. Now the diagnostic code is P0705. The car has been serviced twice and has received a transmission (at no cost) and a rear tail light assembly ($300), respectively. Now after receiving the car last time and taking it back on the road, the engine light came back on again!?#&$. Thus, with much grief the shaking picked up where it left off. There's much too write but I'll just say over time I stopped using the Radio/CD, high beams, left turn signal, and before using anything electrical I hit the brakes after starting the engine. This has cut down on the shaking considerably. Now here's a more in depth look at what's happening. The car will go say 90mi with the engine light off. Then whoosh! The engine light will reappear again, say for another 280mi. Mind you, with the engine light on I have to pump the brakes at least once to avoid shaking and another problem, when coming to a stop. Now then, say after the aforementioned 280mi, the engine light will mysteriously turn off again, with virtually no problems at all. Afterwards the car can travel for about 120mi and then the engine light will turn on again, for say another 200-250mi. It's a cycle. Yet when the engine light is on the severity of the problem varies. Most of the time when the engine light comes back on the shaking goes from minimal to gut wrenching bad. Then all of a sudden the shaking lessens considerably until it stops. As this occurs the engine light will eventually turn off. Then the varied cycle will repeat again. I must add, the car has stalled twice at a complete stop. Once with the engine light on and with it off. I will be taking the car to get service again. The vehicle is still under warranty. In conclusion, the Versa does perfectly well when the engine light is off. With the engine light off, it can travel for 100-300mi with no problems. I just hope this electrical dysfunction is resolved soon. I heard electrical problems can be troublesome. BTW, the engine light just turned on again. The engine light was off for 175mi. Lord help me in the name of Jesus amen.

@@ADPTraining Thank you, BTW the tranny works perfectly well. The two seconds of shaking occurs when the engine light is on and coming to a complete stop. The problem emanates somewhere from the brake pedal signal to the rear tail light assembly to the transmission. All's well until the vehicle is stationary and that's when the shaking occurs. When the vehicle is at rest, the tranny receives an inapt signal and then it shakes. The dealer diagnosed it as a short in the rear tail light assembly. That's what I was told. I beg to differ. It's been going through this cycle with the engine light on then off, on then off. When the engine light is off, the Versa runs smoothly. Granted, without using the left turn signal, the Radio/CD, the high beams, and habitually hitting the brake pedal first after starting the engine. So it seems. Thanks again for the links. Hopefully it helps.

ADPTraining the pictured Sentra CVT has a four-port heat exchange block. My 2008 Sentra 2.0 only has a two-port heat exchange block, and I need the four-port block to add the external cooler. Do you have any idea what the part number is for the four-port block? I have called several Nissan dealers with no success.

There are 2 version of CVT heat exchange adapter from Nissan Official, up to where you live in. The 4 port version, 2 of the ports are for coolant in-out and another 2 are for oil in-out. In 2port version, only coolant in-out present. Underneath the heat exchange adapter, you will find 2 holes on CVT body for out in-out. You can make your own adapter just for the oil and let it run through 2 hoses to air-cooled transmission oil cooler. We are doing that just fine in Thailand. The CVT Fluid Pressure is more constant because of lower temperature and that makes the CVT responses better, a bit less smooth when accelerating, a bit more aggressive and responsive. With much reduced temperature, you will extend the life of the CVT itself too. 3rd-party heat exchange adapter is more secure since there is no heat exchange between the coolant and CVT Fluid anymore. You can say goodbye to the leak that can cause the coolant to find it way in your CVT and break your CVT internals for good. And the same way goes for the coolant system too, CVT Fluid may find its way into your coolant system, and that wouldn't be good.
@darkcashyz7 жыл бұрын
You can download and install CVTz50 app on Android App Store to monitor your CVT Fluid Temperature & CVT pressure sensors. Use any OBD-II Bluetooth Adapter and your phone becomes great tools for your car and its CVT. There is an app called Torque Pro, which is great, but it doesn't connect to Transmission Control Module, it reads coolant temp and shows that for transmission temperature instead, false data that is. Hope this helps...

We live in Thailand. And there is an auto workshop called "Hybrid Autocar". You can hook them up on Facebook or Google. I installed mine there. I hope this helps for anyone who's searching for a solution for this.
