CW01 Creations DT02 Speed Comp First Go

Well my friends this is the first go at the CW-01 Creations DT-02 Speed competition. It didn't go that well!
So the setup was
Sensorless brushless 3100KV motor
Possibly a 120A no name ESC
19Tooth Pinion
2s 50C 4200mAh LiPo battery
Metal ball races throughout

Hi Pete. Very dodgy cheap Chinese shite and back in the spares bin. Next run got a SkyRC Leopard system. Still sensorless so may have some cogging issues but we have a long way to go yet. I've still got my crazy motor for my last run hopefully. Many thanks and the same to you and yours fella.

I'd solder on a new battery connector there, those tamiya plugs aren't great with lipo batteries & brushless power, they tend to melt. XT60 is a decent plug to have on there & then use a deans to xt60, i do that myself on a brushless stampede 2wd with a 3300 kv motor. Also has to be something with the dual rate on the throttle there on the radio worth checking the manual for that as well as gear up a bit, can for speedruns probably run like a 23t pinion just fine on 2s. Could also be a dodgy connection with the Tamiya to deans plug, which is another reason to get away from Tamiya plugs imo. Or maybe the battery was discharged & it was cutting into protection mode ? Full power of a 2s should be 8.4v as well btw in case its something there.

Thanks for all the advice. I had thought of changing the connector but honestly I'm a lazy old fart and new I was only going to run this setup once so couldn't be bothered😁 The transmitter settings checked out fine so I think something must have happened to either the motor or ESC. That was unexpected 😢 You sure about your end points on the ESC / radio ? A DT02 with the basic 540 does about 20 mph (LiPo) 😅 At least, it will be easy to improve 😊 Like the long design, well done 👍🤝

You an me both dude. It was a cheap Chinese ESC and couldn't figure out how or if you could change the settings but I was only going to use it for this first run so onwards and upwards with Sky RC and Hobbywing ESC's from now on. Many thanks and all the best my friend👌👍😉

Hi Bob. Well that was just a shake down run to see how the thing goes now it's 4 and half inches longer. But I was expecting it to be faster. So that setup is back where it belongs in a box to be forgotten about😂 Next run will be faster and by the end I'm hoping for 60+ Cheers matey.

You ought to do a DT02 Drag racing championship .bit of carbon fibre instead of the heavy stainless would get it going with a good motor ..

Oh, yes, Rob! That's a cool chassis extension, definitely keep the stainless top deck, it looks awesome! Like you said, who cares about the speed, he he... Just stick in a proper brushless system and get back at it with a vengeance, he he! And don't forget Shubert!

I wonder whether u need to swap a couple of the motor wires over. One of mine was slow like that with the correct colours joined, but I swapped a couple of the wires over ie blue to orange etc and it rocketed! Possibly try that. Could have been Friday arvo in the factory and didn’t put the correct colours on the wires, got em all switched up
