You haven't seen a quarter of Amir Zaki's musicianship in this video. Coke Studio got him only to reach a milestone and the producers of the show wanted to give him a tribute. Amir Zaki had bipolar disorder. There was a time when he burnt all his guitars and he was a guy who gave his life to music. He was the first Jazz guitarist from Pakistan when he produced his album Signature. May he rest in peace.

U have to give a reaction to 'saari raat' by Noori on channel rohail hyatt. I want to know how you asses Ali noor.btw great reaction coz u know about music n its interesting to see professional take on thing. So these qawal singers eat Paan to damage and open up thier vocal chords. It damages thier chords and they have to do riaz a type of singing to heal the bocal chords. Can u imagine. That is how they practise. That throaty frog like texture is by hurting vocals by eating pan then practising riaz. Its supposed to give heavy chesty voice to you. Nusrat was a qawal too. Im so glad u noticed.

Aamir is the one of the first finest gutarist in Pakistan, but unfortunately he is no more in this world(RIP). "Naina morre "is the song name not the lady. You need to see Nusrat, Farukh and Rakhat first performance in 1985 at London's " world of music" or simply called as "WOMAD". Luckly it is still availabel on youtube. It's old and lenghty videos but you need to see how much british people went in to this magical voice of Nusrat and group. Carl this is beautiful reaction video from you. Naina more taras gaye...My eyes are yearning. It's a standard of the Patiala school of Hindustani music, in the traditional, light classical genre called Dadra, in a Raag, or melodic framework, called Jangla Bhairavi (scale is that of the harmonic minor in ascent and a mixture of the Aeolian and Dorian scales in descent). Here it is presented in a more contemporary form, of course, and is amalgamated with a secondary composition in a Raag called Jaunpuri (based in the Aeolian scale). The poetry of traditional Hindustani music is almost always in the female voice, by the way, even when composed by men, as they invariably were. Please check out the rendition of this tune by the late great Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, one of its original performers, and possibly the greatest vocalist in Hindustani music of the 20th century.

I think what sets Pakistani and Indian singers apart is that they use their whole body as a means to project their voice. Posture, muscle tension, and hand movements all add to their sound and control. Akbar Ali is a master of control. When I try and sing his parts, I notice it doesn't sound right unless I change the tension in my core. More tension in the body coincides with less tension in the throat. It becomes intuitive when you start to incorporate everything together.

Naina Moray is the title of the song. Your reactions are the best! Really appreciate the western perspective on eastern music. A lot of this style of music is heavily based in classic poetry and the repetitive "chorus" alludes to the overall theme or mood of the song, i.e. in this case the protagonist is missing his beloved and wants someone to or some way to get a glimpse of his beloved
