I am glad you asked that question. CWM is definitely a better option. That way you are not just restricted to planning with financial assets like insurance and Mutual funds. You can recommend real estate, equity shares and other varied services besides what a CFP does.

Sir, I am a CA in banking sector. I wish to ask a couple of things: 1. After qualifying for CWM, why would the employer give importance to me being a CA for the profile of wealth management. I.e. would that avg salary of 4.5 lac suggested by you would be applicable to me also or I can get a better proposal than this atleat ( provided I have the practical skills) 2. Hi Parul, the package I mentioned was for CWM + Graduate only. Being a CA you will definitely get a much higher package and work profile because of greater skills, knowledge & experience. Yes, you can easily manage it alongwith your job.

Yes, it will. Most of the topics you are already aware of, however, it will give you international recognition in wealth management. Plus is a very low cost course. You can go for it.

The charter is accredited by SEBI so It's as valid as it can get. Yes it has a mix of theory & practical topics. However, it's the practical application of all the topics you have to learn.

Many candidates in my batch who took CWM through AAFM India abandoned the course and took up a similar course from NISM. CWM is not worth it, bcos they do not certify just anybody. They certify only those people who are already on a high position to create a brand value of their institution. Thats what i feel. Instead of CWM, consider short courses from NISM. NISM is directly accredited by SEBI and the courses are way more cheaper than CWM. CWM passing ratio is very low and they charge hefty fees for re-exam and renewals. At AAFM india you have to complete the course within a years time or pay renewal fees and Just one year is not enough for a bulky CWM curricular. None of my colleagues were able to do it. If you are a working professional just forget abt it, bcos you wont be able to give so much time to CWM.

If you want to diversify to services beyond insurance and mutual fund, then only it makes sense to join CWM .
