That thing where my melodies are way to confused and full is a big thing i try to work on right now as well. Problem is that most producers, me included, often make beats to show off their skills, they make beats for other producers so to say, not for artists. If you listen to rap songs you’ll notice how repetitive the beat is most of the time, the vocal fills it up. If you make a beat like that without vocals it sounds so empty but that’s kind of the point tbh 😂 gotta work on that
