Beautiful workmanship 👍 That oil pump looks like a rebranded 30psi Chinese $95 free shipping scavenge oil pump. Probably explain the need to seal it to stop oil leaks.

Thank you 🙏 that pump is a Chinese rebrand, but definitely exceeds 30psi. Still being used on my current build. The only complaint I have is that is loud. But I can not hear it when the engine is running. Big lifted crew cab 4x4 ram 1500 turbo hemi build update video kzbin.info/www/bejne/anq3p3SgqbOIq5I

dude, your worksmanship is serious art! it is impeccable! i am so impressed with how clean the whole system is, front to back... i wish people who take on a project in their backyard(garage) no less, had the patience and knowledge to put a system together like you did... cudos man... awesome. i am copying your set up to a tee, just for a chevy but have i learned from you .. im two months out thanks for all the info.... im looking to just pull a trailer alot easier, not for racing.... but 6-8 psi will help out the lil 5.3

I have the same pump and went with the turbowerx spartan pump thinking it was better and it couldn't keep up and my oil was backing up. i didn't want to spend another $400 for the EXA pump that's huge and probably wouldn't fit in the pump location anyway. Turbowerx is quiet for sure but not as strong as these cheaper ebay pumps i feel . Put the cx racing pump back on and haven't looked back.

Nice setup.. I'll be embarking on this mission soon. Good call on the inline sight glass... something I will consider to monitor flow. Suggestion.. won't hurt to run a relay from the pump to have a light in the cabin indicate if the pump dies. I've heard mixed reviews on the exo pumps.. a tuner friend of mine told me to essentially buy cheap marine pumps and expect them to have a limited life span, but to run a checkvalved bypass so the oil has somewhere to go if the pump fails
@HotDamnRacingTeam2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I have recently moved the sight glass right under the turbo. My pump has been amazing so far, good idea about the light in the cab. I actually placed a sensor port just for that but haven’t used it yet. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZ7OY5WZfrCBick

@hotdamnracingteam What an awesome setup you have! May I ask what type/brand of -an fitting you are using between everything, also what check valve are you using? I’m running a low mount turbo and I believe there is a drain issue, causing smoking coming from exhaust at times, as well as the catch can. Thank you!

Without a heatsink and with hot turbo oil, they can overheat and stop running. Happened to me...Smoke Show.
@HotDamnRacingTeam4 жыл бұрын
My oil stays cool and the oil hitting the pump is rather cool too but you are right. I smoked out my turbo like 5 times already lmfao. Bad pump wiring on my part. The pump shouldn’t have an issue running 200 plus degrees for a short time. I did mention I’m getting a turbowerx pump and that this was temporary.

Any thoughts for me? I'm trying to design my oil feed setup. I'm thinking one of these cheap pumps, maybe a redundant second in parallel with a check valve. Locate the pumps below a reservoir. I have a 4 cyl outback with a compound turbo. Built it with the largest oil pump. but even one turbo drops the idle oil pressure from 25 to 15 psi when warm. Based on you saying the pump is quiet when there's oil at it's inlet, I'm thinking this setup should avoid me the embarrassing noisiness from the pump. What did you do for the electric control you alluded to?
@HotDamnRacingTeam2 жыл бұрын
I would recommend a turbowerx scavenging pump if you are looking for the least amount of noise. My electrical controller I got off eBay, watch out for the amp rated. You want it high.

Which check valve? Before or after the turbo. To this day both are working. I have the part numbers written down somewhere.

Why the sensor plug after the pump and not before??
