Well done trying to clean it all up tho, its not easy. Your Tetra's are super colourful and lively so at least they're happy :)

I would add some floating plants to help out compete the algae. You can remove some once your tank settles down.

I hsvr water spangles (alvinia minima) as floating plants and yes they do a great job :)

Love the scraper you used. Is it a card on a chopstick?

Buy some chemiclean on amazon bro. Works for me every single time. Stuff is straight magic.

I will consider it :)

@@GrowingInterest I would just buy it man. Its fish and shrimp safe in my experience. Cyano bacteria can't be removed without something that that kills it. Water changes and maintenance will do nothing if what you have is actually cyano. It's cheap and works. Trust me. Lol I've had cyano a few times and this stuff kills it in 3 days max with an air stone running. Dont consider it just do it and thank me later. Lol ✌🙂

Whenever I get this I just manually remove what I can so it doesn’t suffocate the plants, and then I wait for it to go away on its own. When the tank reaches stasis and the plants start really eating it goes away.

Yes that is the plan :)

This doesnt work. It's not even an algae it's a bacteria. It doesn't just go away one it's own. The only way to remove it from the tank is to kill it. Water changes can help but once it's in the tank it cannot be fully removed until you kill it. I'm making a video about this today. So many people are so misinformed about this stuff. Lol

Hmm that might be true. I’m 100% not a scientist on this issue. I can only speak from personal experience and in the past that’s how it has always played out. I always attributed it to the plants starving it out, but I have no scientific basis to support my claim. Just that once the plants started really growing the bacteria would start shrinking and going away.

@@Mr.Plant1994 that was the case in my guppy mountain tank, it disappeared before I could film it. Now I'm quite happy that I got another chance to target this in a video :D

@@GrowingInterest I know. I'm still super sad about it, but I just had so much trouble keeping plants alive, I just gave up. I got into the hobby because of the plants, and the plants were just too much work for me.
